Marquez vs. Morales on September 15, 2012

This is a very old fight. Im sorry to see it happening honestly.

 

I doubt Marquez gives Morales a shot. He's been bitter all these years not having fought Morales in their primes (though it was Marquez that turned down a fight back then). If he declined it last year, he'll decline it now that Morales has lost.

 

25 years over due but it's on My Birthday :happy

 

Juan is much closer to the peak of his powers than Erik is,and I made a lot of noise about wanting this fight to happen,but now it just doesn't seem nearly as appealing.
I'm not saying it won't be close,but it will be totally misrepresentative of both fighters,regardless of how it goes.
The Garcia fight told me it was time for Erik to go.The Maidana fight created an illusion that blinded a lot of people into thinking Erik still had it.
Even after Maidana I've always said Erik is at best,30% of the fighter he was.
Juan is at least 70%.

Again who's to say what's a legitimate duck and what's not? People actually say Mayweather ducked Clottey and they're about as ******ed as the people who think Morales of all people ducked Marquez.

The fact is back in the days when Morales was in his prime Marquez was a virtual nobody only known by hardcore boxing fans, he was high risk low reward and the fact he was dropping decisions to the likes of Norwood and John while implementing a style that was a little too techical for most mainstream fight fans ensured he'd never land a big fight especially with the likes of Morales.

No way in hell Erik stops JMM at 126lbs or above. He could outbox him tho...50/50 fight in their primes.
