barrera does not have the blinding speed of also yet he was able to send jmm to the canvas when he was way way past his prime.

which really shows that against b level opposition, juan diaz, casa jmm will struggle but in the end will win.

against prime opposition, like mab and pac, he has been sent down again and again which goes to show that at that level of competition, while jmm can hang with these guys, a KD is not only a remote possibility but highly probable as well.

as you know styles make fights. marco's always likely to give marquez trouble, just as mannys always likely to obliterate marco

remember too that jmm was past his best (and above his weight class) when he fought casa and diaz

jmm in his prime - more defensive minded - has never been beaten - NEVER

i want very much to avoid dragging this into a marquez vs pacquiao thing. this is all about morales vs marquez

like 90% of other posters on the thread, it's as close a fight, stylistically, as you can really get out of these 4 legends

i lean with marquez but i got no qualms with those who lean with erik

someone said jmm was never beaten in his prime.

i haven't followed his career much, so who did jmm beat whilst "in his prime"? any other fights you guys recommend i check out?

i thought many people see the last few years as his prime, having beaten mab (though couldn't avoid a kd), juan "baby fat" diaz, grandpa casa, and "schooled" pac (which is a crock of ****, pac clearly beat him the 1st time, and jmm got at best a draw in 2 - and don't give me this jmm won in internet polls bull****).

anyway, i'll say morales wins by unanimous decision.*

*i've seen morales in his prime and he was indeed a beast. i've only seen jmm's fights above, so i might change my mind if i see better examples of jmm.

    :happy:happy:happy. precisely.

jmm i remember did not really beat an atg level before and in his prime was kd by pac and lost to chris john.

stylistically, between two great fighters, one counterpuncher and one aggressor and more or less in a close see sawing fight, fights are normally awarded to the more aggressive fighter.

remember, only pac has been able to ko morales. not mab, not junior jones, not guty espadas. a morales kd/ko would have been highly improbable at this point.

factoring in a jmm KD which is highly probable, I see morales in a UD win.

EM's best weight class was at 122.

JMM was a career 126er, until he was forced to move up and join EM, MAB and MP.

I think JMM would have the better punching power had they fought at featherweight.

But EM's offensive intensity and fighting spirit would even it up.
