If Marquez won #3 he would have won two in a row in my book so no 4th fight would be necessary. And yes, I did score the 1st fight a draw.
Seeing this thread put me in mind of an awkward incident at their first fight. I know Freddie, Pac and Buboy, Pacs closest friend, for a long time. I was in Pacs hotel suite, with his team, getting a signed pair of Spiderman sparring gloves, while he waited for the call to the arena. When the call came, the team, all in red, scrambled like the Strategic Air Command. Each with an assigned task. Lots of high spirits, animation and loud encouragement in Tagalog, in what I presumed were the equivalent of Youll kick his ass! as we headed for the private elevator. We piled into the elevator, Manny in the middle. The pumping-up increased; the din even louder in the confined space. At a lower floor, we stopped. The elevator opened. Team Marquez -- Nacho and Juan Manuel at the center, looking like deer in the highlights -- was standing there. Both teams just stared not a sound. Hatfields were waitin for the McCoys to make a move. Then, because they had no choice, Team Marquez picked their way on to the elevator, trying not to touch anyone, like they had a communicable disease. The silence was deafening all the way down.
Good story dude . . . buuuuuuuut if you're reffering to the absence of replies to this thread comparable to the deafening silence you are reffering to . . . then it's too far from reality. You know why? Because this kind thread has been posted and debated for the nth time in this forum . . . and I guess it grew old and faded. So not much interest anymore. :yep
This is not the proper way to adress someone the likes of John Garfield. Sir, or Good Sir would be better.
This is the internet bud . . . not a formal class or session or anything like that. Whether you're 18 years old or 90 years old, a lawyer, a doctor, a writer or not . . . everybody gets the same treatment. If the terms I used offends you or him . . . it's not intended.
I wasn't serious. He is a great writer though and a true boxing historian, and we are lucky to have him here when he drops by.
