But Pacquiao allowing himself the extra weight in negotiations, since he does have a higher ceiling for weight maximization, does allow him an advantage. He doesn't have the "freedom" to come in his best, because he has to take in factors of his opponent which usually aren't there. Those few pounds will enhance Pacquiao, and could potentially harm his own body. That could mean the difference between a knockdown or not, staying down for 10, or for 8. Pacquiao has a higher ceiling, and uses the weight better. Marquez can't risk just coming in at a lower weight, even if it might seem more efficient for aspects other than power and durability.

It'll always be a tough nights work for these 2 due too the style match up, simple as, too much is expected of Pac in this fight & it's ridiculous. It's going to be just like the first 2 fights from start to finish & it'll be a close UD or SD for Pacquiao.

I flew over for the Pac/Mosley fight, great time watching it live, but i've just watched it on disc & i'am alarmed at Pac's performence, i hope it was a blip, but he looked at half speed compared to the Cotto fight. Look for the ooohhhs & arrrghhhs from the crowd when Marquez lands his counters on a slower Pac if the Mosley fight is anything to go by.

    I'll be there, 6 nights NYNY $450:deal:yep $1200 ticket, Section 19, Row J, Seat 11:D

So essentially, this 145 catchweight isn’t about JMM being reduced in effectiveness, but about Pacquiao being increased in effectiveness, right?

Both guys have been given an even playing field – the luxury of not having a weight limit to adhere to. So, without worrying about any restrictions, both guys can now turn up to the fight prepared whichever way they want. And at the end of the day, it is Pacquiao, like you say, that is the one who benefits more from this luxury, because he [Pacquiao] is the superior athlete and fighter. In other words, he’s the better man.

It seems the roles have simply been reversed from the last time they fought. Just like Pacquiao is now benefitting from not having to make weight, JMM back then was benefitting from facing a Pacquiao who did have to make weight.

Pac gained 11 pounds in 7 years while Marquez gained 9 pounds.

If Pac is on A-Side meff, then Marquez must be on some B-Side meff. :nut

Pac should win this fight comfortably. Pac's speed and power are what won him the fight the last time. The difference in speed and power will be even greater this time.

This match should have been at 140 atleast.

Marquez still makes Team Pac **** there pants I guess. I hope Marquez pulls off the win, somehow.

If Pacman couldn't stop shot versions of Margarito and Mosley, there's no way he stops Marquez.

And if he doesn't stop Marquez, then Marquez will outbox him for half the fight.

So I agree with the TS.

Morales got blown away in the third fight. Marquez should still do better, but I still think he gets stopped. Manny hurt Marquez badly when he dropped him last time. If the knockdown hadn't come at the end of the round, Manny would've finished him. When Pac drops Marquez this time, he won't let him off the hook.

Seriously doubt it. If Marquez is able to handle Pacquiao's power at this weight, which I don't think he will, then this could be a tough fight. What troubled Pacquiao is Marquez' speed every time he countered and caught him off, Marquez lacks serious speed at this weight. Marquez was dropped with single punches by Katsidis at 135 and Mayweather, I think you can guess what would happen when Pacquiao nails him at this weight.

:goodTop Man, Whats pissed me off is the hotel rates have doubled at the quality casino's. MGM ****ers want $1200+ for 6 nights, double what i paid in May. I always book direct but this time i phoned a travel agency here in the UK & she got me the NYNY deal which was a steal:happy

Yeh the atmosphere is going to be awesome & always is when you've a mexican fighting, thats why i do the long haul trips, yer just can't beat being there live & getting pumped up with all the build-up of atmosphere from Thursday onwards:D

Kevin Mitchell may be fighting Brandon Rios on the undercard? But this is where we miss good old Don King as he always stacked his cards with title fights & now we have to put up with cherry picked punchbag 10 rounders. GBP are the worst culprits for this. If the undercard is crap then i'll just stay upstairs at the bars necking ale a plenty & dribbling over the TECATA sluts girating their gashes:D

The $600 tickets are fine!! you're just up on the 2nd level, hopefully in the 1st rows & all the views are tops anyway except the ****in nosebleeds which i had for the Mayweather/Hatton.
3 rows from the ****in backwall & being totally smashed out me skull it was like climbing Mt Everest:-(

#1 it's silly as **** to act as if the 2 lbs that PBF came in over the contracted weight (outside of obvious unprofessional behavior) had any impact on their fight. PBF didn't beat him because he was "bigger" he beat the **** out of him because he was more skilled and better. If you want to call it "cheating him on the scales" or imply it makes him super human...so be it, but the reality is it had nothing to do with the end result.

#2 Don't think I don't "get it", I get what you are saying...I mean I understand and comprehend your logic 100%, I simply disagree and don't accept it as "fact". The bottom line is that JMM fights at 135 for a reason, he's not a WW fighter, and this was clearly established in the PBF fight. Manny on the flip is a WW fighter, he's used to fighting WW fighters, has transformed his body into a WW body, and he's not a "small guy" other than via perception. PBF has made the same journey up through the weight classes as Manny, but now PBF is "true" WW, but Manny isn't? Come on breh, you know better than that, they are both WW fighters.
