Of course it's woeful. So what is your problem with making it better? One step would be random drug testing. Its certainly 1000x better than what is there now.

I'm no expert, but it is possible to take performance enhancers before you enter a three month training camp. Saying I want to be randomly tested during this specific period is, as you say better than nothing, but its hardly proving complete innocence either.

My point is, if you are coming on this forum to gain one up by stating a boxer is clean because they have said they will do this, ahem, Olympic style testing, then you're extremely naive.

Now, if Juan Manuel Marquez was on a crusade against Manny Pacquiao, why didn't he demand random testing for the fight last weekend? If Manny Pacquiao is on a crusade against Juan Manuel Marquez, why doesn't he do random testing?

I don't care about who does what and when, I've said it before and I say it again, I take performances and results these days at face value. Unless you are caught, you are clean. But to act as if a guy is clean because he says he will do this form of testing in future. Its nothing. Its a nothing argument based on utter hyperbole.

The effects of steroid use are not permanent, which is why people use them periodically in "cycles". Using steroids prior to a three month training camp will make zero contributions by the time fight-night rolls around. You lose the benefit of steroids shortly after using them.
