It did seem a bit strange but I will give him the benefit of the doubt. There was no doubt he was about to get stopped in the next round or two.

Nice win for Juanma. Props to Marquez tho. Maybe a 32-yo Marquez might still spark Juanma..

marquez took too much damage for this sport. Lopez is naturally bigger and stronger and marquez was getting a beating but we all know knocking him out is not easy.. He gave his last hoorah but it was not enough. **** the haters.

He was on his way to stopping Marquez, but keep him mind Rafa only had 3 fight in 3 years prior to last night and only 15 rounds in that time. Rafa gave it everything he had, and never went down or stopped fighting back. The last thing he should be accused of is quitting. I think he should have had one more fight at featherweight before taking on lopez and he would have beaten him, but at the same time 35 is old for his weight class especially since hes been in so many wars.

Marquez is ****ing 35 years old, proven battle tested and was getting rocked left and right by a puncher that is naturally bigger and things could have ended very ugly had the fight not ended the way it did.

Who gives a **** if he quit.

    Yes, he'll take Gamboa's beating in 4, and KO'd in 5. :good

Even Calderon gave a great fight against Segura though trading with him wasn't the smartest thing to do. One thing we can all agree on is that Lopez/Marquez was very good if not great and Segura/Calderon was a great fight.

Agreed, but people keep bringing up age because their fighter lost. Calderon lost no excuses, so did Marquez
