I think PBF will be too much for JMM, but i'll rooting for the upset....And damn, I cant wait what PBF would have to say....
Mayweather tko 7. Marquez's corner is going to throw in the towel. He's barely even a LW. This fight is a joke.
No one knows how JMM will handle the higher weight classes, he hasn't shown an improvement in power, his frame seems like its more suited for featherweight/lightweight ... he hasn't even stepped up to junior welterweter ... His speed isn't there and he gets hit waaay more than he has been in the past, he's also a sucker for straight punches. I think that Floyd will walk him down, make it tacticle and then take over in the later rounds becoming more aggressive and throw more power shot combo's. This is a set up, with him doing something before Pacquiao ... in addition to that if Floyd gets him hurt at any point in time, he's going to get the stoppage. The reach factor will also come into play when it comes to Floyd pot shooting from the outside. I have to disagree with you guys when you say that JMM is the best fighter that Floyd has faced, that's not the case.
With Mayweather's defense and awareness, he can slow down noticeably and still be able to beat alot of fighters.
Makes sense... But it's still a guess. (Like everything else) + that's assuming Mayweather is still the same, something noone knows for sure.
I'm with you on this. I think Floyd will win, but will not be surprised if it's a SD or MD. JMM definitely gets terribly underrated by many.
If JMM is not the best fighter Floyd has fought, I would surely like to hear who you think is better.:think
JMM is no different than Genero Hernandez or JLC ... he's not as good as Oscar (any form of Oscar) ...
i'm not a fan of floyds, but his defensive style and his reflexes are some of the best in the game. that he's taken some time off is one of the worst things he could of done. floyd should win this one on a decision, but marquez has never been stopped and he's not a face first fighter like hatton was. there are very few fighters i have seen that truly love to fight and treat boxing like a religion and jmm is one of them. where manny should've destroyed him he came back to a questionable draw and loss. i think both will feel each other out in the first rounds with floyd probably trying to sneak in a pop shot and get a flash knockdown. the later rounds should be interesting as to who will take over as both are used to doing, but floyd will have to be at his all time best. he makes a mistake, jmm can turn the tide of the fight in his favor. he was never the fastest, the strongest, or had the best punch, but jmm is one of the smartest out there and won't give floyd an easy fight.
that's like saying floyd ain't no different than sweet pea or pacquiao.. it makes no sense. of course they're different. very different. height, reach, lefthanded converted to orthodox, jlc in his prime while oscar was not when they fought floyd, genaro a solid technician, but not a big puncher, etc. etc. floyd is looking to get all the advantages he can get on paper, but it might be alot different on fight night. on paper, he should win. manny couldn't keep marquez down, i wouldn't bet on floyd stopping him, unless on a really bad cut.
I think this is a good description of how the fight will play out. When it gets past the half-way point is where I have uncertainties as to what is going to happen.
The only people that don't agree that marquez will get dominated and stopped are Floyd huggers that want to be able to talk up the win when it happens.
