I dont see it.... I think too that paulie will actually trouble him as well. Im not gonna say a paulie victory or anything, but PM is gonna be a big, fast guy that uses every inch of the ring, and i could def see him fustrating JMM. No way do i see JMM stopping Malignaggi.... which means if he did, damn, he goes up in my estimation.

Malignaggi has fought Hatton, Cotto, Diaz, ect, and has only been stopped once.... we will see. I wouldnt mind seeing the fight.

Marquez would not stop paulie...paulie is on the verge of getting a P4P chin ranking....I would favor Marquez though, and i'm a huge paulie fan...I just think Marquez is the better boxer...

However, Malignaggi would be a live, live, live dog...we all saw what happens when marquez is the aggressor against floyd, and in essence, paulie is a poor man's floyd...paulie would not change his style, and marquez would have to be the aggressor....he would get countered, plus when paulie comes prepared, he is tough for anybody...

I'm not sure what you're trying to tell me with this... but it was very well known that Cotto was fighting severely weight drained for his last handful of fights at 140. You must be a relatively new fan to boxing if you don't know that.

Casamayor and Diaz fought some of the biggest punchers at 135 lbs.......

.......just take a guess Kirk who has been the only fighter to stop those two?:deal

:lol:Many times its not the force or punching power that stops fighters, but overall punch placement, accuracy, and shot selection, which include working both head and body.

Paulie's corner threw in the towel when Hatton was beating him down......I would say Marquez has alot more know how, and knows how to finish.

Bradley is the much tougher fight for Marquez......I say a fighter that was thoroughly outboxed by Hatton (outboxed, not just beatdown), gets taken to the cleaners by JMM.

No doubt man, but Paulie is a bit bigger then Diaz, and much, much harder to hit IMO (although his defence is a bit overrated) And casa is really, really past it.... dont get me wrong im not taking anything away from JMM's win, but at this stage of the game i think Malignaggi is a harder task to try and stop within the distance then an almost 40 year old 135lb casamayor.... at this stage.

No doubt Divac, i completely agree :good

I def think JMM is a better fighter then Hatton, but to me one thing Hatton does better is smother a fighter a lot more effectively then a primary counterpuncher like Marquez does..... two completely, completely different fighters, with two completely different styles, and i think Hattons strengths play to Malignaggis weaknesses better then JMM's do, meaning i think Hatton looked better against PM then JMM will if they fight.

Of course i think Bradley is the much harder fight, in fact, i think he beats the ever living crap out of JMM at this point....

But the 'this guy lost to this guy so this guy beats him' to me just doesnt apply in this fight, and again, im not saying JMM doesnt beat him, i pick him to win because hes a class above PM regardless, but i really think PM fustrates him at some point, and to me will be in no danger of getting stopped. Not when PM is a defensive first boxer, the bigger guy, and with JMM a primary counterpuncher, and who shouldnt even be fighting at 140 anyways, and then go ahead and throw in the fact that PM has a pretty damn good chin? and PM's not even lasting the distance? nah... i just dont see a stoppage here at all.

But hey, if they fight... and JMM proves me wrong, more power to him... he would be better then i thought obviously.

I say he wins about 8 rounds to 4, maybe 9 rounds to 3.... but no stoppage at all, and i would be suprised if PM even goes down.

Just my opinion though.... to be honest though id rather just see JMM stay at 135 and fight there, him vs Valero and Katsidis would be fun. Hes got no buisness at 140 and i cant see him beating Bradley, Peterson, or Holt for that matter. I think he could beat Urango, Torres, Malignaggi, and him vs Hatton would be one badass scrap (gotta favor JMM's accuracy and skill in that one though) but if you cant beat the man, i dont see why he should be there.

Eather fight Hatton, or stay at 135 and make some fights there, just rule the division.

    imo

I agree with this completely Jeff hit the nail on the head. Paulie has a lot of the same of what Floyd has and look at the results. It isn't like Paulie has to invent the strategy to win this one. The blueprint is already there he just has to execute it. Obviously, Mayweather has more established tools to execute it, but I don't think Marquez has enough in him to alter his play drastic enough to push for a KO. He may win the match, but this is an excellant fight and the one I hope comes to fruition.

I'm a huge Paulie hater, anyone who saw my rd-by-rd knows that, but I've seen Marquez on a decline, starting with the Diaz fight.. even though he won.. there were moments he just didn't look good.. it's just Diaz doesn't have a ton of "heart". He looked terrible against Floyd, and I don't think it was just the weight.. he looked slow, he looked plodding, he looked like he was on a steady downhill decline.

It's more a hunch than anything else, but he looks like Castillo when he fought Ndoujo. Something was missing.

I think Paulie boxes his ears off as I don't think Marquez has the power to stop Paulie when he "does" land. I think Paulie is just too big for Marquez at his current state.

Bad style match up for JMM. This match up favors Paulie with his speed and limited power. JMM is too slow at higher weights. Paulie will be first to land and get out with his footwork. I favor a malignaggi decision.

Marquez was able to get Floyd against the ropes at 147... You dudes are comparing Paulie to Mayweather are ******ed. Marquez knows how to cut off the ring. Paulie has great movement but not great defense. Marquez can get him cornered and catch him with enough good shots to win rounds and win a fight. You cant keep Marquez off of you with just a jab and no power.

Floyd wanted to go to the ropes, he was laughing at the frustration on Marquez's face. He was even waving Marquez in.
