Lets keep it real. Boxing isn't always about who the best, but who can make the most money. With Mayweather announcing a May 5th showdown with PAC, who in the hell whats to see Marquez win. IMO the May 5th announcement mean Marquez has no chance of winning unless he gets a KO and we know that isn't going to happen.

People are watching this fight for two reasons now.

    1. Its will be an exciting fight, but we expect PAC to win.

    2. To see how badly PAC will finish off Marquez.

The little chance that he had of putting on a stellar performance and getting the nod is over. Bring on PAC vs Mayweather please. Boxing is dirty people and you know it.

Marquez is gonna lose because he won't be able to handle Pac's power at welterweight.

Boxing a dirty business but JMM is going to box the **** out of Manny. As much as I want to see the Mayweather/Manny fight, JMM winning would be nice to shake boxing up.

  4. I doubt Marquez will see the 8th round:-(

Perhaps, but he has always had a power advantage and was never able to capitalize. I still say stellar boxing beats PAC until proven otherwise as Marquez has shown. Even if he can nullify PAC's power, I don't see him having a chance at a decision. One knockdown and its over and with Floyd in the picture now, forget about it.

It would be nice to skake it up, but he has no chance of getting a decision, even if PAC doesn't run through him at welterweight.

What will you say if Pac blows Marquez out? That Pac had a weight advantage? That Marquez was old and shot?

this thread was inspired by another poster in a different thread, lending the same sarcasm in reference to a possible spring fight.... dont remember the name.

Im not really partial to conspiracy theories.... i think even IF Pacquiao loses, there would be a May 5th fight. If you lost once before, is it really a big deal to lose to the #5 P4P?

A loss would make it even tougher for Mayweather to bypass Pacquiao.... because the casual fan's common sense would tell you if Mayweather could whoop Marquez, he should be able to whoop Pacquiao just as easily then (of course we know that styles make fights so its not really that cut and dry). And if Pac is still asking for a fight and it doesnt happen, then Mayweather REALLY will look like a ducker. The only difference i see at the table is Mayweather's 60/40 deal now reasonable.

    This may very well happen.

But to show how improbable its going to be for Marquez to get a decision........
I think Marquez has to win 10 rounds and completely and utterly dominate 8 of those (I'm not talking winning clearly, but dominating those rounds, which is beyond winnning clearly."
Only then does Marquez have a slight chance to win a split decision.

Marquez had little chance at a decison to begin with, but now new light and hope has been brought to the Mayweather fight next spring, and Roach conveniently has stated Manny will take the same tests Mosley and Ortiz did......so that little chance by Marquez just went from small to zero.
Marquez needs a KO, the dumbest of boxing fans can figure that out.
......wait a minute, figuring that out might be to much to ask of *******s.:D

There's no reason to believe JMM cannot get a deserved decision over Pac. None.

Actually JMM winning would make Martinez-May at 154 for may 5th more likely and that is a harder fight for floyd and a bigger test than Manny.

didnt arum say the May 5th date is bull? I mean, I would for it to be a real thing. I want nothing more then for a Floyd vs Manny fight.

Good lord, we should, as boxing fans, kidnap both these ****ers and hold them hostage until a bout is signed.
