Im working on trying to find the source for the Broner fight but here is Garry Rusell jr. Maybe Marroquin is a little better than people give him credit for.

, Marroquin enters his first world championship challenge with a professional resume highlighted by several impressive performances, including knockout victories of Edward Arcos, Gilberto Sanchez-Leon and Arturo Camargo, who had a combined record of 68-23-5 when Marroquin fought them, all before Marroquin had fought his 19th professional fight. Riding a three-bout winning streak since losing a hotly-contested split decision to Francisco Leal, Marroquin is world-rated No. 15 by the WBA.

Im not saying this means Marroquin wins, but it seems to Marroquin is a little better than people think. To be honest, if we are going to talk amateur achievements, it dont get much better than Rigondeaux. Rigo has beaten better amateurs than Broner and Russell

Yeah I agree.. this is a real test.. not the best test.. but more real than what he's had.. even though Kennedy and Ramos aren't push overs in my opinion...

This guy lost clearly to a gatekeeper and has never faced a genuine contender. He hasn't earned a title shot and is no test at all for rigo, who doesn't have time on his side and really needs to start fighting top fighters (although it's mainly arums fault). He's already had one mismatch fight against Kennedy, doesn't need another one.

I thought it was clear by now that...
    a) amateur wins don't say anything about the result in the pro ranks, because of the obvious differences and age issues.
    b) the winner of a amateur bout isn't always the deserved winner.

Let's see how good this Marroquin caracter really is.

Good to see Rigo stepping up the competition, even if it's just a little

Marroquin's amateur record is impressive, 165-15

This will be a clash between two amateur stars still untested at the pro level

    interesting match

So if Rigo disposes of this guy, is justifying of his pro greatness and why Donaire "ducks" him?
