Mostly by Ceferino Garcia who was a heavy hitter and Johnny Romero who had 90 knockouts. A novice Marshall with the style he had going up against that type of power is going to end up on the canvas. I do think the style made him vulnerable to being knocked out, more so than the likes of Charley Burley or Holman Williams. He didn't have a Tony Canzoneri type of ability to take a punch, that is for certain. I give him more of a pass than most though since nearly all of his knockout losses took place after he was over 30 years of age (other than the Bivins loss and a cut stoppage to Garcia early on), and his style was definitely not suited for longevity even though he hung around until the age of 38.
