Martin Bakole Ilunga vs Joe Frazier

Lewis, Klit bros, Holyfield and a 90s Tyson etc fall into that category so you definitely have a valid point for sure.

There are fighters from the past Bakole would simply be too big for them to handle. Beating Jared Anderson doesn't all of a sudden make you the next George Foreman though.

The size difference (42 pounds) was not as big as the training/experience difference in the Bakole - Hunter fight. Bakole had turned pro in Africa in 2014 likely with limited training/amateur fights. Hunter had an extensive amateur career including the Olympics. That Bakole was able to make a close fight with an Olympic caliber fighter so quickly after starting to box is impressive. A fight like that shows that Bakole had a huge "upside." Bakole has continued to improve and has sparred the best in the world while fighting some good fighters.

A physically fit Bakole has the style and power to win this thing but that Parker KO does him no favours in how I look at this matchup.

 

Bakole TKO. Frazier’s style automatically puts him at a disadvantage against a guy that is 6 inches taller and about 70-80 lbs heavier.

Bakole is also really tricky in the pocket despite his brutish appearance, he is easy to hit but his timing, shot-selection and hand-speed are all excellent. His uppercut in particular will trouble Frazier a lot.

 

Bakole would be a punching bag for Frazier

 

I was there for his win over Big Baby Anderson, who is somehow about the size of Riddck Bowe plus 10 or 15 pounds. I'm pretty sure that version of Bakole puts a beating on Frazier.

 

Yeah, Jared just couldnt hurt him at all it was crazy to watch
