Exactly but not only that these people act like there weren't 6'5 plus guys doing Foreman's early career or when he came back. Lol the main difference is guys back when Foreman turned pro were in shape. Bakole is 230/240 pound guy who comes in the ring out shape. Bakole also weighed 228 earlier in his career.
Old Foreman had an extremely poor record when it came to fighting dangerous opponents. What makes you think he would get in the ring with Bakole when he wouldn't fight Ruddock, Bowe, Lewis, Mercer, etc etc
Tyson Fury is 35 ffs You over here acting like hes Usyks age and doesnt have time for a defining AJ fight gtfo here
Foreman didn’t dodge anybody. FFS, he KO’d the undefeated lineal heavyweight champion who had just obliterated Evander Holyfield. He’d destroy Bakole, Zhang, Joyce and Fury too.
He somehow failed to fight virtually all the eras top fighters, no Bowe, Lewis, Tyson, Ruddock, etc. Moorer didn't obliterate Holyfield but was obliterated in the rematch and has no other noteworthy wins at heavyweight. Comeback Foreman lost to Morrison and you think he beats Fury. That's crazy. I'd say a guy who loses to Morrison and just barely scrapes by Stewart is not too likely to obliterate Zhang or Fury.
I’ll give you some argument for Fury but Foreman is a big factor in that fight and has the power to KO Fury, who was on rollerskates versus Usyk and has a very thin CV when you consider just how bad Wilder is. Zhang is a fat fraud who has done nothing and blown his chance to even land a title fight, let alone win one. Foreman was the lineal heavyweight champion at 45. It takes some considerable amount of nerve and a greater amount of outright ignorance to even mention that joker in the same thread as George Foreman. Foreman, young version or old KO’s that clown inside 3. Easy.
didnt foreman lose journeyman jimmy young ? he retired from boxing after this fight from the embarrassment these fighters from the past are not unbeatable
And tell me, who has Zhang beaten? Which title fight has he been in? Bakole, who has he beaten? What are his title fight credentials? People who throw up these names up as legitimate challengers to the legends of this sport are doing nothing more than embarrassing themselves. And these comparisons, as far as I am concerned are prime for prime. So throwing Jimmy Young out there as some sort of “gotcha” argument is laughable. Foreman beats the living suitcase out of both Bakole and Zhang on the same night.
I understand what you're getting at but there's too many examples of 6'6+ 280lb+ guys being beaten, dispatched and even stopped by guys in their 220s-230s etc....ie much smaller than them for that to tell the entire story. Size matters somewhat. but at the elite of the elite level, it's not enough. Giants lose to smaller men all the time.
honestly, there is nobody here who thinks that morrison jabs, manouvres, outboxes and doesnt get sparked out early had they not actually fought.
It means Joyce was a good amateur up against a good pro, Foreman was a far better finisher than the green Joyce.
I saw Foreman in an interview say that he would never fight Frank Bruno because he was too big, I think he had just won a fight in the UK and was talking to a British interviewer post fight.
Yeah, that’s why Foreman fought Morrison and the asthmatic Briggs instead of Golota, Ruddock, Mercer, Tucker; and those guys. I can’t even imagine how much revenue a fight with Golota would’ve generated.
