He did more than give him fits but that Hunter was a lot better than Anderson. I picked Hunter ot beat Bakole at the time because of Hunter's clear skills advantage. Hunter has better footwork and head movement than Anderson and has a more varied offensive arsenal and can mix in up close when Bakole got inside. Anderson has no inside game, he stands off and leans back from shots, Hunter comes inside, dips under or side steps. It's a real shame that Hunter lost the hunger after the Povetkin fight, he was a damn good heavyweight at one point.
Think we'll have a better idea in a few months. I've only really seen him in his last 3 fights and tbf I thought he looked impressive in all of them & then the Hunter fight which he wasn't so impressive in but was only stopped due to the injury he suffered. After the 9th round, 2 judges had it even and the other had Hunter 1 up so who knows how that would've gone.
Bakole may beat the crap out of Anderson. He's by far the best, the largest and the hardest hitting opponent that Anderson has ever faced.
Yeah Hunter was pretty good and very skillful I wasn't comparing them skills wise more the fact they are a similar size with fast hands. Anderson has some vulnerabilities that's for sure pulling back in straight lines for one but he's pretty green and the last fight couldn't really gauge anything because the other guy came to survive. I think his speed could give bakole problems then again bakole might just bully him and beat him up. Interesting fight.
I don't see what really anyone sees in Bakole, he's kinda just a top 10-15ish guy because everyone else if faltering all around him and he's what's left. But Anderson is really disappointing and I still stand by my position that he's not ready for anyone in the top 10-15 yet. I lean towards Bakole winning but I'd like to see Anderson win and prove me wrong.
Didn't Bakole also get injured in that fight and was basically fighting one armed past a certain point? Anyways... Hunter and Kuzmin are the only times Bakole has really looked vulnerable, and I'm pretty sure those guys would have caused Anderson fits as well. This is going to be a great fight. HW division is really picking up again. These guys have finally found their balls and are making these fights happen.
Boxrec has it added to the Ruiz-Miller bout. What do we think of this one? I think Bakole has a good chance of the slight upset.
Bakole UD, but if Anderson manages to back him up he can win, its not a mismatch. Bakole is kinda overrated imo, nobody here seems to think Anderson has a chance
Bakole stops him if he's in decent shape. He was so out of shape last time he looked like Jarrell Miller after a short diet, lol.
I doubt Anderson can back him up, Bakole is a big old unit of a boxer. But Anderson will try because he doesn't counter punch, he isn't some rangy out boxer, he has to lead because he's never learned to counter, much like Yoka. I agree Bakole is overrated and given his recent poor shape in fights, I wouldn't rule out Anderson winning. But I cant favour him here, the Martin fight exposed his flaws for all to see and his recent legal issues suggest he has distractions outside of the ring and is not living the lifestyle of a professional athlete with his use of drink and drugs. Even if Anderson wins, he isn't the future of the division at best lower top 10 level, but I suspect he falls short of even that.
Anderson isn't top 10 to me, no decent fight struggles with Martin, just don't think Bakole will run him over
