Round 1

Mathews is forking out hard jabs and 1-2s as Gethin circles and puts out his palms. Gethin falls atop Mathews and holds. Gethin jabs at the body and sends a right soaring in, wide of Mathews' head, clinching after missing. 1-2 by Mathews, blocked. Flurry by Gethin backing him off. Double jab on the body by Gethin. Mathews steps away, jabbing.

Round 2

Mathews is shying from Gethin's double jab, putting out some single left jabs of his own into Gethin's armpit on the backfoot. Gethin is doubling up lead left hooks on the body stepping forward. Mathews is ducking in and throwing slicing combos at the body. Gethin stuffs them, pressing into Mathews, shaving his scalp with the jab.

Mathews is jumping back, throwing counter right hands off the ropes as Gethin trots after him with jabs and body flurries. Nicely timed counter right lashed in by Mathews. Hooks on the belt line by Gethin bowing inside. Long jab by Gethin, caught on the right forearm by Mathews. 1-2 by Mathews falling in. Clinch. They wrestle a moment until the ref splits them. 1-2 up top by Mathews as Gethin hooks the body, both falling into a clinch after missing. Gethin comes on strong in the waning seconds, ducking and dodging and flapping at Mathews' sides with hooks, mostly hitting elbow.
