I think it'd be a good fight for Murray and certainly one he's capable of winning. Although, a Barker-Murray scrap for the vacant title would be another cracking British title fight to add to this years list of mouth watering domestic fights.

I met Martin at the Hayemaker show at the Echo Arena back in March, seems like a top bloke and I'm sure he'll flourish under the guidance of Hatton

Top fight. Elcock needs to win to stay relevant on the domestic scene and a win for Murray puts him in line for a Brit title shot.

From what ive seen of him he seems to be technically very good without being flashy and would be a tough nights work for anyone at domestic level.Would have more of an idea if he fights Elcock as to how far he may progress.

He seems to be in the same mould as Moore where he likes to physically dominate his opponent and whip in the body shots, just he has less pop in his punches (although it seems he is steadily improving his power).

Will be good to see him step up, as I am a fan of his and I want to see how far he can go, which I haven't been able to see due to him fighting nobodies who came to survive in his last couple of fights.

James Degale vs Murray in a years time for British honours anyone? Assuming Barker goes on to fight Macklin or for the Euro title should Macklin go after Sylvester?

Im a big Barker fan but if Froch and Murrays rate of progression are anything to go by i cant see Hennessy landing Barker a tilt at Macklin!

I think thats about right, Murray looks like a poor mans Jamie Moore. Not that he's a poor fighter though, but he's not at the kind of level Jamie is right now, and nor should he be.

I think he's progressing quite well, but he's in desperate need of fight like this. They have put some real rank awful bums infront of him so far, its pretty hard to gauge.

Elcock is a good fight for Martin righ now, he's not learning with the kind of opponants he's getting, Martins nothing like Jamie Moore(apart from the obvious), Jamie did'nt have much of an amateur grounding and suits the pro game because of his aggresive style, Martin on the other hand had an extensive amateur carreer, winning a schoolboys and senior ABA title, he could have won many more but he is one of those frustrating boxers who only puts in 80% in training and the same in a contest and I doubt any one will eve see what he is capable of. Jamie moore on the other hand will proberbly tell you he never thought he would achieve what he has done in boxing because he puts 110% into everything.

Great fight for both men. Elcock needs the fights to get him back into title contention and Murray really badly needs to step up if he wants to win anything. Hopefully this gets tv cos it should be a rootin tootin old fashioned punch em up.
