Murray didn't gas out in the 2nd half of the fight like Macklin did. I thought Macklin was lucky to finish that fight on his feet.

Even assuming you are right (actually Sturm was more gassed than Mack, and would have fallen on his face had he thrown 2 or 3 more punches, but anyway), boxing is scored on a round-by-round basis.

Macklin could have been carried out on a stretcher after the fight ended- it still should not affect the rounds he's got in the bank.

Macklin left it all in the ring, as a challenger should do.
I agree it looked like he was in bad trouble afor a few seconds at the very end, but if you look at it carefully he was not nearly as bad as you say.

Actually Murray did gas out, and he really WAS nearly ko'd at the end cos HE had not battered all the fight out of Sturm like Macklin did, and Sturm was plenty fresh enough to have finished him but for the bell.

people dont see the reason why Hearn brings fighters abroad, its simple, life changing money for the fighter.

People need to stop looking at this the way they do, boxing is these guys livliehoods, how they pay the mortgage and put food on the tables for their family.

How many guys would purdy have to fight to make the money he made against Alexander?

And for what, so youse are happy, yet his family go hungry? B

If he signed with DiBella he could get a lot of fights without worrying about tv companies but the USA visa issue may be too much of a hurdle.

Yeah and so could Hatton but unfortunatly Murray decided to turn down a chance to fight 2 world champions, Murray is looking for an easy way to win a regular belt, he has been offered a world title shot, Murray could have plenty of chances if he wanted, didn't Hatton give him 2 world title fights. He chased a bull**** fight with a nobody in Fletcher hoping to call himself WC, it backfired and i'm glad Murray can stfu about not getting opportunities he has had 2 World title fights and could have a 3rd if he wished.

Maybe there were strings attached to the world title opportunities that were offered to Murray which made it far less attractive for him? Could be more going on behind the doors than we know?

This is very likely the case. Remember Macklin got stick for not taking the Sturm rematch. Later emerged there were punitive clauses attached, and Mack was quite right to refuse it.
