I respect your opinion. You don't have to agree with mine but satements like "your having a laugh" or "you cant be serious" like previous poster are bit over the top. I agree Murray is at world level and so is Barker and Macklin. I happen to think that the Chavez Jr (on the night) that stopped Lee would have stopped Macklin and Barker and I happen to think Lee would have given Sturm as good a fight as the others. No problem if we don't agree!

In fairness Paddy , no one said "you can't be serious".
I DID ask "are you serious" cos you are a knowledgeable poster who normally makes good sense, just in case you were being tongue in cheek.
I now realise you were serious. But saying lee is on the same level as the other 3 is ridiculous, there is no evidence to support that he is.
On the contrary there is no shortage of evidence that he isn't, sadly.
Sadly Lee has plateaued on a level far below what we all hoped he would achieve. At this stage I doubt he will ever threaten any world titlist, sadly. But I hope I am wrong as I really like the guy.

So will Lee be fighting Khomitsky? Sergey gave Murray a tough fight the first time they went at it.

I'll be one of the few people who would pick Andy over the other 3.

There's damn all between them in fairness, I expect Brian Vera would do a number on Murray/Macklin/Barker

Every one of them loses the "big" fight barring Barker who beat a mediocre world champ. Lee has arguably fought tougher opposition in the States aswell. I totally agree that he has plateau'd but he's still on same level as the other 3.

It seems the more Murray stays out of the ring the higher rated he becomes.

Fights between all 4 would be very competitive.

Macklin v Lee (Macklin via stoppage)

    Macklin v Barker (Macklin decision)

    Macklin v Murray (Murray decision)

    Murray v Lee (Lee decision)

    Murray v Barker (Murray decision)

    Barker v Lee (Lee decision)

I read that Golovkin will fight Murray early next year, or perhaps Geale.............Golovkin wants to fight Martinez ASAP..............

Well, I know how badly a virus can mess a boxer up, my computer had a virus and could hardly function!

Good to get the discussion going and hear other peoples views, Jay.
A couple of things I would say are:
I doubt Vera beats the other three! he is so crude he makes Macklins worst look like willie Pep.
Matt should have been the first World champ, ?he didn't lose to Sturm, he was robbed.
Lastly, what fights was Andy in that compare to Macklin v Sturm, Macklin v Martinez, Barker v Geale etc etc??? He really has never performed at the level of the others, has he? Cheers :)

    Don't rate Barker do you!

    I'd go...

    Macklin v Lee (Macklin decision)

    Macklin v Barker (Barker decision)

    Macklin v Murray (Murray decision)

    Murray v Lee (Murray KO)

    Murray v Barker (Murray decision)

    Barker v Lee (Barker decision)

FWIW I would go something like this :

    Macklin v Lee (Macklin ko)

    Macklin v Barker (Macklin decision)

    Macklin v Murray (Macklin decision)

    Murray v Lee (Murray KO)

    Murray v Barker (Murray decision)

    Barker v Lee (Barker decision)
......all this should have happened by now.

It's soon going to be all academic anyway.
We have missed the boat on this "tournament".
Upcoming results will devalue the whole thing.

    Barker will lose to Sturm.
Andy will lose to someone again soon.
    Murray will lose soon too.
Bang, and there goes the shine off the middleweight tournament!

I would have thought Barker and Lee performed similarly against Belghecam. In fact Belghecam gave Barker a right scare in that one. In saying that, I am sure Barker would have performed better against Fitzgerald than Lee did so tit for tat really.
Chavez who stopped Lee was 30 seconds away from stopping Martinez in my opinion.
I think If Lee fought the other 3 he would lose one and win one. It's just that I don't see how it is totally out of the question according to some posters that Lee could beat one of those 3. Honestly I could see Macklin or Barker beating each other depending on the performance on the night. But if you guys don't agree my point is that I am not going to ask if you are serious are or if your having a laugh. no beef - just saying....

To be fair what do you expect the fight Lee was put on the bill at very short notice, nobody legit is going to take a fight against a fringe world level fighter like Lee on that short notice, Lee should win easily although i thought the same when he fought Anto Fitzgerald and that went the distance

If Lee was ready to go, why didn't they make Lee-Murray originally, it would have saved the bill.

Andy will never make an impression at world level. The dream is over. He needs to call it a day. He just has to face up to it. It is a sad day to have to say that, but its true.
Another fella who wont be around much longer is Barker....Sturm will see to him.
