I had the eventual feeling that Maklin could have carried on hitting Sturm's body and side of head for another 12 rounds and Sturm would not have budged. Has Murray got more power?
If he has then he needs that plus the skill and fitness that Maklin showed in Germany to just stand a chance (which I dont think he has unfortunately).

Good luck to Murray but if Macklin couldn't come away from there with a decision there's no way Murray can imo.

It's a terrible defence. He's had 23 fights and beaten nobody of note. The day Sturm retires is a good day for the sport of boxing.

Murray is a worse version of Macklin imo. Good look to him though. He's done well to get a world title fight within 4 years as a pro

Yer he was so fair play and he is training to be a social worker as well to teach other kids not to make the same mistake. So I think in some ways he has earnt it just don't know what he brings to the table that can trouble Sturm.

His power has seemed to be improving in his more recent fights so maybe that is something that could trouble Sturm if he gets him to the body and keeps coming and Murray does seem to have a very relentless style with some boxing nouse built in.

Im not sure he has enough head movement not to get picked off by Sturms jab all night.

I dont see why they dont go for interim or the normal wba champion instead, would make more sense.
