Martin Rogers: Floyd needs to fight Andre Ward

Lol. I would like to see Floyd try to make a MW run though. If he beats Alvarez there really isn't any threat to him under 160.

Rogers clearly doesn't watch boxing. Look at this quote;

"Given how boxers rehydrate and bulk up again in the time between the weigh-in and stepping into the ring a day later, Ward could be up to 18 pounds bigger than Mayweather if the two actually squared off."

So he understands that fighters rehydrate which is good. However, Mayweather typically fights at WW and Ward fights at SMW. The division limits of those two weight classes are 21 pounds apart. You add in that Mayweather usually rehydrates about 2 -3 lbs. and Ward usually packs on 10-15 lbs., and you could see how these two could be 30+ lbs. apart on fight night.

That's basically saying Floyd has run out of opponents.
Floyd should just be allowed to fight all the welterweights because he's a welterweight.

 

Why beat around the bush with Ward? Floyd should stop wasting everybody's time and fight Wlad.

 

Read this also - it's quite frankly a load of crap - Ward needs to go up to 175 and fight someone like Dawson. As for Mayweather - well, I'm happy he at least has taken on the Canelo fight even if it is with a large dose of hypocrisy
