Martinez against the tops at 154: does he whip em all? If so, why is Ward higher p4p?

    1)disagree
    2)ur crazy

PWill was still a solid opponent even though he moved up. He was also one who moved up since no one else wanted any part of him. As for your analogy--

Marquez at 147 > PDub at 160> Dawson at 168

    :deal

williams only became viewed as a overrated fighter after sergio rocked him, he was never the same since IMO. prior to martinez williams II paul was a very avoided fighter.

Then let Martinez move down and get a fight with Cotto? Or Lara? Or whomever?

I can't give him hypothtical victories just like I won't give Floyd a hypothetical W over Martinez at 160 to move him into the top 20 all-time list.

I'd like to see him fight Lara, dunno if it'll happen since he's looking for marquee fights; I've been wanting him to fight Cotto since the Marg II win but Cotto seems very reluctant. Martinez tried the super friendly approach to try to get cotto to fight him :grouphug but I guess it didn't work

we can also try the "what have you done lately" approach but imo that still favors Martinez because Ward hasn't done anything since December, and before that, May

Now that Cotto is a free agent he should go for it.

Not like Cotto to duck anyone.

Yeah, the thread title is misleading but in my op I inferred that he's essentially "locked" in at 160 because of the range of "plausible" fights for him in particular since the Pavlik beatdown

Same here, but what would be your opinion of Martinez (in comparison to Ward) should he win dominantly?

I think Ward bit off more then he can chew vs Bad Chad.. IF he beats Dawson and does it convincingly (which I doubt he will) then I would say he belongs above Serge.

Well if Ward beats Dawson and Sergio beats Cotto they would be interchangeable really.
