He couldn't back him off but clearly his punches were hurting Chavez and forced him to be more defensive than reckless. Usually Chavez would be reckless and just charge in, in this fight you can clearly see when Martinez lands Chavez thinks twice about exchanging.

From what I've read, Martinez is a successful businessman outside of boxing, he can pretty much quit tomorrow and not think twice about it.

Yeah, Chavez took his soul. Didn't you see the part where Martinez was grabbing Chavez and the ref was about to stop the fight but the bell rang? And the part where Martinez was saying "no mas" and wasn't punching anymore after the KD? :rofl

Martinez did give everything he had against a huge strong opponent. But to say he took his soul, come on man. Martinez was not demoralized at all even with the ko in the 12th.

If he torn ligaments in his knee he wouldn't be moving around like that.

This. He may have strained his ligaments but if you tear them you ain't standing up. But still if he needs surgery that's a huge blow at his age.

    :rofl

He basically deliberately offered it up and dared Chavez to take it.

The broken hand apparently occurred in the 4th, which is much earlier than I thought and makes his performance during the remaining 2/3rds of the fight even more impressive IMO.

I don't believe the **** Sergio is selling. He is just trying to cover his ass for getting embarassed in the 12th like that.

He didn't release a statement or anything. It's just come to light that he was treated for these injuries.

Why would he need to cover his ass? He put on a boxing master class

So because Floyd got wobbled and hurt by Mosley does that mean he should be embarrassed with his performance? No. It was a great display of boxing.

You really don't have any idea what you're talking about.

Sergio wasn't slightly wobbled. He was down and about a flurry left from being TKO'd and losing it all Meldrick style.

Sergio if he had a torn ligament in his leg woould have been completely stationary the last half he wasn't.

If he broke his hand more power too him, but I don't buy that ligament ****.

If he was that close to being TKO'd Chavez must really be a piece of ****, because he had a minute to put away a guy who was apparently out on his feet and instead he ended the fight eating punches.

The only reason he got knocked down. Sergio is a complete warrior and p4p top 2.
