I think Sergio had a knee problem before the fight. Somebody posted pics of Sergio with a knee brace during training.

And if he actually has surgery I'm sure you'll declare it's all a massive facade so he can duck Danny Jacobs.

If he has surgery I still won't believe it happened during the fight, and not afterwards.

You don't move the way he did during the fight with torn ligaments in your knee.

I am not sure how a ligament heals, but this slows down his career. I thought regardless of getting careless in the last round because of trying to stop Chavez, he fought a good fight. a shutout for 11 rounds is not really deserving of a rematch. He will be careful in the rematch.

Depends on the degree of the damage. People will partially rip their ACL's playing sports and continue playing. You feel and hear that pop/crunch and keep playing with pain, doesn't mean you didn't rip anything.

Adrenaline does funny things,(You also have obviously never tore any Ligaments in your Knee so stop talking like you know wtf your talking about). You would know if you ever did **** besides trash two guys who went to war for our entertainment from behind a keyboard that usually you dont even realize these injuries are as bad as they are until the adrenaline wears off. Chavez And Martinez deserve respect.(and have respect from real boxing fans). I doubt Martinez would lie and he has nothing to be ashamed of. Luckily nobody gives a **** what you think and never will. Now kill yourself. :hi:

He could be ready for a May rematch with Chavez. I imagine he'll have surgery by the end of this month then 2-3 months of rehab.

1.6 Million reasons not to feel sorry for him.

not to even talk about the sponsorship money they get.

hope he recovers fast and can fight next month like the old timers.

    ahhaha

I think 24/7 showed images of Chavez Jr running with a knee brace. Maybe he had a knee problem?

Torn ligaments are a pain to deal with. Took me a year to recover after surgery but Zinedine Zidane was back in the mix after only 4 months or so.
I am more concerned about Sergio's broken hand. It never fully heal and being 37 won't help at all.

Wish him a fast and complete recovery.

Maynever is praying that Martinez - check, Pac, and Canelo all sustain an injury like this right before a potential fight.

By November, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he calls out Serg.

Man. Ortiz's jaw was hanging off his face. He did the right thing by stopping that one

That sucks...guess the rematch will have to wait.

I would like to see Chavez fight Macklin in the meantime.
