That's true. But even Pacquiao acknowledged Marquez's counter-punching style. It made the fight a close and very difficult fight for Pac (and it ALWAYS WILL).

But Chavez is laying the blame solely on himself for not being able to do anything. The guys sitting next to him were trying to get him to open up, but they know it was as simple as C-level fighter encounters A-level fighter and is damn near shutout due to lack of skill.

Chavez needs to either move up, and let his body settle at a better weight class, or train his ass off to offset smaller, superior boxers like Sergio.

Since his bread 'n' butter has been to come in 180+ and just overpower you, I assume they'll give him a steady stream of "decent" fighters to make him look great and milk him some more before he runs into a bigger Sergio who destroys him and ends Arum's gravy train.

And by "Sergio" I don't mean him in particular, just a fighter as skilled (or more) and bigger.

Switch the methods of victory around and I'm pretty close! (note to self: only bet on the winner of any given match!)

    Rematch probably comin'.

LMAO @ the people thinking that Chavez testing positive for weed aided in his performance last weekend.

Chavez Jr is a sore loser, a cheater, an over-sized middleweight, a paper champion, and a druggy. He tried to use name power, size, and power to build a career. But without the skill and heart to go with it he got exposed rather quickly. How he had such a huge following here before the fight is beyond me.

Lol, Martinez never held on, he just kept fighting. Jr, could not get off in the early rounds b/c everytime he threw anything he got blasted in the face. If they do fight again next year, it will be even worse for Jr, if that's possible. Considering Sergio's knee heals well.

If Chavez smoked weed that is not a big deal and would not help him. As long as he did not test postive for something else. I still don't know how he cuts so much weight without some type of help.

chavez does not want to give credit but when he wakes up in the morning and goes to the bathroom and looks at his face in the mirror, and when he eats his cereal and his face hurts when he tries to chew, he will understand inside of his soul, that sergio, is his master. when he lays in bed at night and is alone to his own thoughts, he knows in his heart how much he does not want to have to go through that all over again.

Sergio Martinez comments inregards to Mayweather would be a good fight that could make sense "When I grab you, I will make your bones crack like I did to Chavez. I promised [Chavez] that I was going to crack all of his bones and I did. Floyd, get ready because I'm going to find you in 2013. Between now and November of 2013, I promise to find you. He is living in a cloud, but when he gets my message he is going to fall. With Pacquiao it is impossible. There is a huge weight difference, because he is very small and the maximum that he will weigh before a fight is 143 or 145-pounds and the least amount of weight that I can give is 154."

Like father like son. The main reason that Chavez Sr. was one of my least favrote boxers. Was the fact that he was a sore winner and loser. I was a Whitaker fan in parts because he always seemed to give his oppoents some respect after a bout.
