Martinez does not want to fight Hopkins, and for good reasons.

Martinez can make 154 easy and I dont think that Hopkins can even make 168 (he struggle making weight in the last Pascal fight), so I can understand a 154 fighter doesnt want to go at 175.

Yeah I agree with this also. Leaving your hands against Floyd is foolish. Ortiz had his hands up for MOST :yep of the fight pretty high and used a little head movement, but was still getting caught clean and straight on vs Floyd.

If they were the same size, I could see Floyd stopping him, but Sergio's size keeps him on his feet. BUT if he gets drained to 150, then I could see Floyd feinting Sergio out of place and off balance and knock him down. I doubt he'd KO him, but maybe if Bayless is the ref, he'll call it off

IMHO, you just can't make a case for Martinez ahead of JMM or Donaire in the P4P rankings.

Both JMM and Donaire has showed more adaptability than Martinez.

The big difference here is the money. I dont know if he will be able (or if its "ok") to make a fight with Mayweather or Pac, but the money is so huge that in my view, it explains the why Martinez at 37 (or around) want the biggest payday he can. I dont think that Hopkins can offer him that.

I know that. What I'm saying is if he thinks he too small to fight Bernard, then isn't Floyd too small to fight him?

Or, in particular... the one he's been chasing for a while now, Manny Pacquiao.

    Double standards from Martinez.

bhop can get martinez a better payday than hes ever had so far, so the argument that he should keep trying down instead of up is null. IF he were to beat a bhop at 170-175 he would become a REAL overnight sensation and manny is going to have to prove himself against him.... and he will have the so desired american fanbase from winning that fight but we all know bhop would school him

I dont think Martinez will win a Hopkins fight at 175, but if he does, the "too old" Hopkins reason will put a question mark on his win. And I really dont know about the money, Hopkins is not a big draw himself, so it all comes down to the ppv and thats far from a guaranty it will sell big.

Martinez wouldn't win a single round against a prime Bernard Hopkins.

:patsch What are Pavlik, Williams, Dzin, Barker? 5'6 fighters? Martinez size is not a real middleweight like williams and dzin but he was smaller in height in which he won by ko over williams rematch and dzin. And then ko 6'1 high guard barker.

hopkins is to damn big for martniez and catch weights are for *****. why fight weight drained fighters. hopkins is to big and would not be a skill thing it would be a bigger man thing.
