Martinez fought extremely valiantly and won a plethora of new fans but people seem to forget that P-Will imposed his will upon Martinez and that is what won him the fight.

Correct!! Anyway, I had Martinez winning a close decision. More than 2 weeks= clear Martinez domination..... No doubt!!

I thought it was one of the best fights I've seen in years. And I immediately said "This fight was just ruined by one judges scorecard". Because 115-113 and 114-114 was as about as ACCURATE as could be for that fight....BUT 119-110 WAS JUST F***ING CRIMINAL!!!!

It was a good fight that Pwill pulled out in the late rounds. Sergio fought a good fight but was tiring at the end and getting out work towards the end of a close fight.

I think the HBO commentary was biased against Williams, they never seemed to see any shots that Williams landed.

I don't think I've ever been so infuriated after a boxing match.

I had it 115-113 Martinez, but it was close, indeed.

What about Williams? He also took the fight at 2 weeks notice too. Williams was preparing to fight Pavlik but then had to change training camps to prepare for Martinez who has a way different style then Pavlik. And i don't want to hear (Martinez wasn't even in camp before preparing to fight Williams) in which it was bs cause Martinez was schedule to fight a tune up fight at the same month december. But i heard that Martinez was preparing to fight anyways on way more then 2 weeks notice cause he was told my his team to get ready cause he'll be name as Williams opponent.

    Well put.

Although I had Williams edging it, Martinez is certainly reaping larger rewards than Williams since.

    Say what?

Martinez gave the favored Williams everything he could handle, put him on the canvas for the 1st time and easily could have won a foty type fight. All this while being a last minute replacement.

A lack of a full training camp can easily be used as an excuse for gassing at the end of the fight, but rather than do that, the guy says he could have done more. In a fight as close as that(except in the 1 judges eyes) doing more means winning the fight.

How do you read a concession into that?

Martinez is just too nice of a guy.
We all saw the fight and i saw Martinez beat PW.
The thing is PW is an HBO fighter and he usually has at least 1 judge on his side.
As proved in the Cintron fight where a judge had given him all the rounds even though he had lost them all.

So of being nice means he didn't mean what he says ? Then explain to me how Martinez was saying he was robbed big time vs Cintron? If he was that nice then he would have say that in the Cintron fight could gone either way as well right????? I dare you to respond to that.

Incorrect, Martinez was preparing a full camp for Williams because they let him know that if Pavlik backed out again he would be a replacement because they were going to fight on that set date. Martinez had a full camp preparing for just Williams, Paul had to adjust the last 2 weeks of his camp and switch from getting ready for Pavlik to getting ready for MArtinez and despite that I feel he still won a close fight.

I heard about that one as well but yet many knuckle heads wants to make excuses for Martinez but none for Williams. Talk about double standard.

Much respect to Martinez for not sulking and complaining like many other fighters who lose a close fight do. Him talking ownership of the doubt makes me a bigger fan of his.
