Chavez looked pretty hurt at the end of one of those mid-late rounds. Forget which one where Sergio had him back pedaling and started nailing him with straight lefts when Chavez's back was against the ropes
Now or at his peak Martinez would get steam rolled by Golovkin, that hands down style wouldnt work against a sistematic sharpshooter with the power that Golovkin has.
My question would be how much credit and respect would GGG get for beating Martinez at this point. I understand GGG is the fan favorite but this match would be similar to TB-JMM and we all know a lot if people are discrediting that because Marquez is 40. Marvellia is 40 and coming off multiple surgeries so will they make the same excuses if GGG wins
Of course you're right. It's all speculation based mostly on Sergio not lookin' like such hot **** lately and Golovkin easily beating up lesser boxers.
I've got nothing but respect for Sergio, but he was too hittable for me to favor him over a sniper like Golovkin.
Martinez has more movement then GGG has ever seen in a pro ring. He is slick as hell, has KO power and can absorb punishment. Martinez is a true master of the sport. He would shorten up his punches and blind GGG with combinations and slick movement. Now... who knows... Old coming off an injury.
He wouldn't be clueless as what to do against someone like Martinez. That much experience regardless will enable you to adapt to pretty much anything, even against someone like Sergio. Whether all those fights translates into the question you've posted is irrelevant to me. I've been a huge Martinez fan for years but these threads do absolutely nothing. I'm not overrating Golovkin, I just feel what I see. Regardless, this is a fight we need to see happen. I don't care about him cashing out, I want to see the torch passed.
