I never understood DiBella's logic for ruling out a fight with Pirog. 1) His title was stripped from Martinez and set up for golden-boy-hype-job to win, not Pirog. Pirog pulled the upset. 2) What was Pirog meant to do, hand the belt back and say its undeserved. 3) Martinez beats Pirog
Martinez wants no part of Pirog. Dmitry would crowd and outwork him just like Margarito did. Expect Sergio to move up or down in weight to avoid Pirog.

I'd say Golovkin would give Sturm a great fight. Sturm might cause Martinez a few problems too. That would be a great fight to watch IMO.
Martinez is a whole different boxer to the one that faced Margarito. Also, Margarito fights absolutely nothing like Pirog, Pirog doesn't pressurise in the same way.
Pirog looked **** against a guy that actually defended himself. He lacks the experience but does have the skill.
Martinez definitely had a bad weekend with two of his future big money fights taking big hits. Lemieux and Kirkland can rebuild themselves but Martinez isn't getting younger so those fights become pretty remote right now. I'd hate to see Martinez spend his days as the middleweight champion facing guys like Manfredo, Lee, and Chavez Jr. Sturm isn't leaving Eurpoe so Martinez would have to go there, don't know if he would and I don't know if Sturm would face him anyway. Pirog moves further up the list but there's a lot of questions there. There are some nice Eurpoean fighters like N'Jikam and Golovkin but HBO will have little interest in them. Unless Martinez is happy beating up on fighters who have little chance against him he may have to really consider moving up in weight.
Pirog needs 2-3 more fights first, hopefully by the end of this year or early 2012. Now that HBO has ran out of their chosen guys to build up for a Martinez fight, they might call him up now however. I'm a fan of Pirog's but he needs to get some more experience. The Maciel fight was actually good for Pirog- he needs a couple more fights like that that make him work and give him something to learn from. Sergio's got more than twice the fights and nearly triple the rounds boxed that Pirog has. While a couple more fights might not close the gap much mathematically, it'd be a boon for the guy who hasn't even hit 20 fights yet. And if those fights happen to get on HBO, it'd help build up Pirog's name to make at least more financial sense for Martinez than it does now. Maybe one of those fights to make could be Pirog vs Andy Lee at the end of the year, as the winner would make a logical choice if Sergio can't win the lottery and land a Mayweather or Pac fight.
I'd love to see HBO pay for the rights to air the N'Jikam-Golovkin fight here to get the winner a little U.S. exposure. They'll probably just give that shot to Angulo instead, however. If Sergio were willing to fight Sturm in Germany ( a move that would probably be equally ballsy and crazy), that would be the highest paying fight out there he could realistically get. After his luck on the scorecards here in the U.S., maybe to him traveling to Germany may not be as big a deal as we think.
