even at 160, i don't think that martinez is as great a challenge is to floyd as pac is at welter let alone 154 or lower. martinez is having a good run but pacquiao is a great fighter.

floyd taking martinez at 154 or above would not exceed the challenge pac has faced when he went to 126 from 122 to face the great barrera as a 1-4 underdog. even when pac went from 135 to 147 to face delahoya as a 1-2.5 underdog.

Martinez' manager and advisor separately said the same thing. There are posters here with soild sources saying that they are hearing that the fight will happen. Kevin Iole of Yahoo boxing said yesterday that he is working on an "incredible" story about a major fight that will be announced next week.

Could all of this be bull****? Yes, of course. But as a fan, I'm hoping that it isn't.

It's understandable if people think this is too good to be to true. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice... well don't fool me again.

Fair point and the obvious one to make from your position. But, I don't know anyone 168 or below that would be a substantial betting favorite over Floyd right now like the two Pac examples above. What does that mean? Did people underestimate Pacquiao? Is Floyd perceived to be unbeatable? Are betting odds a legitimate way to determine the level of challenge a fighter takes on?

Martinez-WIlliams 2 was a toss up and Barker was a 26-1 underdog or something ridiculous.

    I don't know.

I am not saying it is not happening.

All I am saying is this article is interpreted wrongly.

Tell me which part was I not clear? You have posted 4000 posts already and you should know actually the meanings of these terms : PROBABLY, I BELIEVE, I WANT, SHOULD, COULD, WOULD, IF.

Sorry Kevin but unless it's a story confirming Mayweather vs Pacquiao, I doubt it's "INCREDIBLE". It's all about MMA, boxing is done

And you have over 6,000 so you should know that people speculate and hang on every word spoken by the fighters we love watching around here.

Personally i would rather see PBF and serg. I am a huge fan of bothe Pac and PBF and hate to see either guy lose.

I am amazed at why people just dont get it. the biggest hurdle of PBF-Pac is Arum. PBF and Arum hate each other and PBF would never want to give Arum a Payday. if Pac was with golden boy this fight would have happen years ago.

Arum did not want his cash cow Cotto to fight PBF so that fight never happened
Arum wanted PBF to fight margobrickmaster but PBF wanted the two things he coveted the most the green belt and a fight with oscar who he was calling out when he was like 2-3 weight limits below him,
Arum and Floyds egos will always get in between them working together smoothly.

The fight @ 154 makes sense because Serg is a small MW and could easily drop down ( he went into his last fight at 158 official). Also, ANYTHING BELOW 160 is for the MW title! so Floyd could still get another title.

Both fights would be great but I think Serg, while bigger has more holes in his style that PBF could cash in on plus he would probably make a lot more money fight Serg than pac despite the fact that Pac would bring in more PPV#s

Martinez v.s. Mayweather Jr. or Pacquiao at 154 could be a good damn fight!

MartiniZ is a much bigger threat to Floyd then Pac. I'd favor Floyd against Pac n I'd favor Martinez over Floyd. Intact I don't want mayweather to fight Sergio he's too big too fast and too good. Pac is clown shoes in comparison.

6000 in over 5 years. Big difference.

Besides what is there to speculate when Martinez said it himself. I know the meaning of those terms. Do you?

So was that your motive for talking to me? To criticize and make fun of my post count? What's the point of throwing that out there and how is it relevant to this discussion?

You're a clown, dude. I may post more than you but I also get laid a lot more than you and make a LOT more money than you do. I'll sleep well knowing that.

Now get moving and catch that bus to whatever field you are working in.
