Right now 160. He's too bulky for 154, but too small for SMW.

Good question , what was the Williams II fight at around 158? I think that is his most comfortable.

I'd say 160. Wasn't he 170 on fight night last weekend? IF he goes down to 154 he'd be draining something around 16 lbs, which might hurt him considering his age.

he looks a bit too bulky at 160, 154 probably fits him better...

He was 174 against Pavlik. He is 5-10, not small at all for middleweight. That's probably his ideal weight. He probably can't get down to 154 anyway.

As for super middle, he is a little small for it, but consider he is the size of Pascal who is fighting at light heavy, and is also an athletic fighter, it's not really as much of a stretch as he is trying to say it is.

He just wants easier fights against smaller fighters, who also bring more money than the bigger guys. Nothing wrong with that, he's earned the right to seek those fights now.

Why not 168? As I understand it, he's been over 170 fight night for his past 2 fights. Draining 10-12 pounds every fight can't be healthy.

Because a lot of SMWs would weigh over 180 on fight night.

I think his ideal weight is around 158.

Martinez is no idiot and he obviously is not willing to weight drain himself for a multi million dollar paycheck. Pacs team said 150 but he said he cant healthly make that weight so he said 154 for the LMW and 155 for his MW title.

Its funny how all these *******s and floydettes seem to know better than him and say he is a full blown MW. Last time he was in against a full blown MW he looked like a Dwarf in the Pavlik fight.

Martinez seems to be very smart and wont sell out for money. The only reason he looks bulkier lately is because he said he needed to add weight to compete at the MW limit. He needed to add more power too.

Martinez ideal weight is 154. at 147 he was too weak. At 160 he is starting to cope with it well but at 154 he is a beast. When you make a guy believe you headbutted him because there is no way you can punch that hard that says something.
