Martinez is a heavy favorite and rightly so, but.....

who has Martinez fought since Williams?

    bums....

I guess the one decent fighter in the list would be Chavez Jr, and Jr is nothing special and he almost got knocked spark out in the 12th round of that fight.....

cotto's fought in a much higher class of opponent... albeit at 154....

who knows.... Martinez has been out for a while.... and he's never been a high volume guy....

Cotto's worst whoopings came via Pacman and The Tijuana Tornado, both those guys are high volume guys.....

Cotto can take a lot of breaks in this fight, apply pressure in spurts.... could surprise a lot of people.... the main problem may be the weight difference and ad******g to the heavier body weight.

Also one guy was using cement. I think cotto wins and not just based on nationalism. I just think his competition level is higher. Unless the cotto that showed up against trout comes into the ring, he should take a close decision.

It was pretty bad, at least to me. I remember thinking he should retire after. He just looked totally out of it.

What is very interesting is that both guys lost by stoppage against Margarito before Margarito was caught loading his gloves. I will bet both of these losses would not have taken place had Margarito not had loaded gloves. Testimony to how tough both these guys are. Martinez bowed out in round 7, Cotto in round 11. This is the only fight Martinez was stopped. How was Margarito ever allowed back into the fight game? Lost 3 or his last 4 once he was found to be loading his gloves.

That is cause you know **** about British boxing Ezzard. Barker, Macklin, they are all very good fighters. Cotto has Jack and ****, Jack left town, baby, just 5'7'' tal, a wrecking ball that's what he will look like against a proven Middleweight. All Welters that faced Middleweights were basically under pressure and were outgunned for the most part - can't run, can't hide like Joe used to say. I am not gonna go to Duran against Barkley and Ray against Marvin cause Duran and Ray were special but you gat to look at history baby - Marlon Starling against Michael Nunn, Kassim Ouma vs Jermain Taylor, Cory Spinks vs Jermain Taylor, Simon Brown vs Bernard Hopkins, Carl Daniels vs Bernard Hopkins, Oscar De La Hoya vs Bernard Hopkins, Felix Trinidad vs Bernard Hopkins, and so on. Please don't come at me with Martinez vs Pavlik or Castillejo vs Sturm or Hoya vs Sturm (Highway robbery) or Winky Wright vs Taylor cause those are stupid fights.

Cotto will win. Martinez looked great against big slow dudes and alcoholics etc. Cotto is the best opponent he has faced in many years and he will feel it on June 7th.

Murray beat Martinez, and was robbed by the judges, he then had Martinez try to rubbish his performance by claiming he wasn't 100% ( Martinez only makes these claims when he wins by controversy, or underperforms ).
Expect Cotto to do the same, then hear Martinez complain about injuries and lack of motivation.

No kidding, I used to really like Martinez but his disrespecting of opposition by making excuses and not giving them due is old. Then he's got the nerve to call Cotto a prima donna when he's an excuse maker, a two division below caller outer, and own division ducker. If Cotto is a prima donna, then Serg is a undeservedly wannabe prima donna, which is far worse.

Murray, Macklin and Barker are not bums or else we go back to the times James Toney called Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank bums in front of Mickey Rourke in National TV and the fact that the three are not is that they almost stole the title from Sturm in Germany. Of course, Gennady made short work of Matthew Macklin.

I hope Cotto comes after Martinez the way he did against Rodriguez. He looked like a different fighter in that fight. Maybe because he thought Rodriguez couldn't hurt him.

Cotto hurt Martinez' feelings because he rightly stated that he's not as big of a star as cotto. He didn't even mean it in a disrespectful way. Some South Americans, particularly ones from more advanced countries like chile and argentina(not of late) have a disdain for Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, etc because they look them as poor, and backwards. I think that's why Martinez is being such a *****, he can't fathom that a rican can be above him somehow. He'll learn what it's like to be beat the **** outta one on the 7th aswell.
