Way for him to dig deep against an opponent who was determined, bigger, and didnt know how to lose. People will hate on him because he struggled at times tonight, but this is what true champions do: They find a way to win. Dont discredit Barker, he didnt come to lay down tonight. If he had thrown more punches, maybe he would have won, but he was a bit too defensive. If he can recover from this he can cause some middleweights alot of problems. Congrats to Maravilla!!:good
I thought Martinez was in big trouble in Rounds 3 and 4. Great to see him battle back and knock out Barker, who fought a very smart fight, BTW.
even at the top you can't have all your fights be complete domination. bottom line, sergio won, end o story
I liked that Martinez made some adjustment. Especially that he went to the body when he saw Barker covering up the face so much.
I like Donaire, but he has had 2 big wins over 4 years, he needs to fight more and fight the bigger fights, end of story.
Martinez is very good. If he cant get a fight with Cotto then I think he should fight Chavez Jr but we all know thats not gonna happen. its 168 id you ask me
And the nut hugging reaches a whole new level. I really thought it was impossible for posters to make themselves look any more foolish around martinez nut hugging, but , nope, guess not.
I know I am preaching to the choir with this one, but I think the younger, hungrier version of Pavlik would have beaten Martinez tonight.
A nose bleed is harder to fight with than a cut. Especially when you rely a lot on athleticism and the blood affects your respiration
Are you trolling? Barker would be a tune-up for Hops and target practice for RJJ. He's totally ordinary, and Sergio is slightly better than ordinary.
