LMAO! Are we talking about the same Floyd? The one that couldn't knock out Marquez...After he made him climb 2 weight classes, and Marquez was FAT?! The one that had Mosley infront of him, gassed after 2 rounds, and couldn't finish him within the next 9 rounds??? he knocked out Hatton (who he hugged to death, but I don't think Hatton minded), and Gatti (who is the poster child of a SHOT FIGHTER).
Paul Williams isn't the hardest puncher in the world, but he did knock out Quintana in the rematch much faster than Berto (showing he had the power when he actually sits down on his punches).
Mayweather didn't fight Paul Williams, Margarito, Clottey, Cotto, etc because he didn't want to risk it. Williams vs Martinez 1 was a draw IMO, and the 2nd...Well, no question in what happened. Williams wants no part of Martinez after that (OBVIOUSLY). Martinez was the only guy to ever knock Williams down, and KO him.

Martinez is a different fighter than Floyd as well. Both fight slick, defensively, etc BUT Martinez isn't boring like Floyd, and that's why he's liked (or at least liked by people that aren't the same race, or nationality he is). He actually gets knock outs, presses some action, makes things exciting. Floyd rides his bicycle, pot shots, and holds hardcore for victory. If he notices the other fighter couldn't withstand following Floyd's bicycle, and he hugged the life out of them...Then he knocks them out MAYBE

Floyd just needs to fight them then. If he can do it, get a big payday, make his fans happy...FIGHT THEM! You can say what you want about Pac, drug tests, etc, but you can't honestly say Floyd has mentioned about fighting Martinez (or at least after his brutal knock out of Williams).
Floyd is taller, and bigger than Pac, can earn 50 mil for a fight with him, and STILL hasn't fought him. Martinez is taller, bigger, and he'd probably earn half for fighting Martinez...Yeah, he's really gonna fight Martinez.
I'd say Pac vs Mayweather is like 50/50 (coming from a Pac fan). Martinez vs Mayweather is like 80/20. Dude is just to big, and athletically gifted...Same goes for Pac against him. Pac would get hit HARD.
Neither should be in the ring with him, but if you want to argue about it then I'll argue...

Martinez is seriously over rated these days, but get real, the man is very good at what he does. Personally, I would pick him to beat Pac or PBF. Neither fighter could over come the size difference.

Pac has been fighting at 147, but he would be even better at 140. He is a natural junior welterweight at this point.

Floyd lost his urge, and hasn't been active. However, when he is active, he is a small welterweight.

Martinez has quick feet, he has fast accurate hands, very good athleticism, and a real good chin. He comes to the ring at right around 170 pounds. That's the same weight as Taylor, Pavlik, Miranda, Zuniga, and Abraham who were all considered very big middleweights.

On a pound for pound basis Pac and PBF are better, more accomplished fighters. Head to head I don't think either could overcome the size difference.

in light of what Martinez has done lately, I am not sure this thread makes sense. Martinez has beaten the top guys and beaten them impressively, something Floyd has not done. Floyd has consistently handpicked his opponents and fought them at the right times. I admit Floyd is good, but to say he is an ATG is hard to do. He lacks something to be ATG. If all the ATG fighters at welterweight were still fighting Hearns,Leonard,Cuevas,Benitez,Robinson,Trinidad,Curry, he would not fight any of them. You get the feeling he would make excuses about steroids.

WILLIAMS DID WIN THE FIRST FIGHT... MARTINEZ DID WIN THE SECOND FIGHT.. N Martinez would probably win the third and win against Mayweather.. amrtinez is like 165 plus coming into fights and he's fast.. Mayweather couldn't beat that... it's like saying FLoyd could be Andre Ward to be honest.. too much athleticism and size for even Floyd... we're acting like Martinez is NOT the p4p number 2 guy in the world

Da ****? You must be high. Martinez hardly ever gets hit cleanly, and he's top dog in his division

    What a moron..

Martinez is an excellent boxer who's also not afraid to stand and trade against with his opponents and finishes them too when he sees an opportunity.

How can you call his KO of Williams lucky? Sergio has been landing the very same punch in the the 1st and 2nd rounds before the KO came.
