As Lou DiBella would say '**** Dmitry Pirog'. He was **** in his last fight and has done virtually **** all since he beat Jacobs.

exactly why would he duck a guy he feels he can beat.... he might be avoiding him because he's after bigger money fights but ducking him i doubt it

This guy Christo is a narrow-minded person. He just thought that anyone who disagreed with him is stupid. Get TF outta here!

Pirog isn't the only guy Martinez is actively ducking.

What an asinine way of gauging it. If there's a clear contender out there and you're the champ and you refuse to fight him, you're ducking him. Also, technically, Pirog is in a sense higher rated because he has the strap (that Martinez SHOULD have)

Im gonna say i agree , but will say this , Pirog looked poor last time out , he stunk the joint out , but on the whole i agree , Martinez does seem to be ducking him right now , HBO should step in and make this fight happen , Barker has done nothing to warrant a fight with Martinez and Pirog is more than halfway there

If Martinez would "maul" Pirog, then why doesn't he come to Moscow and do it? Sergio would win Pirog's portion of the MW title, so why not?

The reason is, Martinez likes to talk, but he doesn't walk the walk.

By the way, Pirog said he would fight Martinez anywhere.

The Martinez camp (and all his nuthuggers) are using Pirog's last fight as a reason to justify Sergio's ducking. Now, doesn't every good fighter have a few lackluster performances on his resume? Are you guys really that stupid?

Philla, did you just make that up now, while smoking weed?

So there's no such thing as a champion ducking a challenger???

What do you call what George Foreman and Joe Frazier did with Earnie Shavers? Do you call it fighting?

Oh come on. I agree with your sentiment, but there have to be at least 5 people on ESB who have a brain.

Pirog is the WBO middleweight champion of the world.

Now you tell me: what has Barker done to deserve a fight with Martinez?

True. When Pavlik was champ, he wasn't the most skillful guy in the world but he was always calling out the other MW champs (Abraham and Sturm), and trying to get a fight with them.

Martinez never even mentions the names of Sturm, Pirog and Golovkin, unless a journalist brings them up, and even then he quickly makes an excuse and stops talking.

I thought he was the real deal, but his choice of opponents recently makes it clear that he's looking for undefeated fighters whom he has a stylistic advantage against.
