Maciel was a tougher opponent and better win than the Golden hypejob. :good

  2. Pirog picked up a VACANT title fighting an unproven prospect and everyone is acting as though Pirog is some kind of world beater worthy of something that Barker is not.

You could argue that Barker's resume is even better than Pirog's, and he's had a tougher road to his success than Pirog.

Martinez has had four top fights in a row, and now all of the sudden he's ducking because he's fighting his mandatory? Nope, sorry, that's not how it works.

Nice try, but Pirog's resume is better than Barker's, and I repeat: he's the champion. Who cares how he got the title: Sergio should be calling Pirog out to get that title, instead of clowning around with bums.

By the way, Pirog beat this guy:

Pirog isn't really good enough to be considered a duck.

It'd be like zavek claiming pac ducked him for kell brook.

That being said I don't understand why martinez took this fight. It certainly ends any arguments that he's better p4p than pac. His run of victories made people question if pac was still deserving of top plaudits but I think that argument should be put to bed now.

Could be a decent fight but barker isn't considered the best domestically and there are quite a few guys ranked higher on the world scene.

:patsch:patsch Pirog is not the WBO Champion, Martinez is. Pirog is holding his belt hostage after the WBO made some bull**** excuse to strip Martinez.

:rofl:patsch at Pavlik bumlicker booradley claiming Martinez is ducking Pavlik, even though he destroyed him and Pavlik refused the immediate rematch and claimed he can no longer make Middleweight.

This is the dibella style of promoting. make no mistake about it, the reason why Jermain taylor's resume is littered with names of former super welterweights and Berto's resume is littered with names of unknown tomatoes and former jr. welters is the same reason Sergio is going to stack his resume with unknown names. He will live off HBO's license fee while praying that a mega-payday with a former welterweight lands on his lap.

I only consider a champion ducking a challenger if he vacates his belt to avoid him.

You don't fight another champion unless the money's right. Boxing business 101. Pirog looked like crap in his last fight in russia against a nobody while Martinez was headlining on HBO and looked good while beating world class opposition. I consider Pirog the 2nd best middleweight but he's a paper champion whose biggest win is an unproven prospect. Don't get me wrong I think he's the real deal but he needs to raise his name value and earn his shot.

And for the ******s who think "Barker didn't earn his shot" well that's because it's a stay busy fight against a guy who'll probably get a 90/10 split. A unification fight is a whole different ball game.

Not ducking, pirog has done next to nothing and doesnt deserve a crack at martinez, pirog needs to get fighting and prove he deserves a shot, one KO of a nobody proves nothing

And my inevitable question to you is: what has Barker done to deserve a shot at Martinez?

You nuthuggers are so easy to expose.

What about the post immediately above that one that provides an actual economic explanation for why Barker and not Pirog? You haven't exposed **** except for your own delusions.
