I'll concede there's no monetary reason for Sergio to fight Pirog right now. He's probably making the same amount of money fighting a soft-touch in Barker (I don't know if Barker is even on Gary Lockett's level), as he would a dangerous one in Pirog. And it did get Dibella & Manfredo the Chavez fight, which will be a good one.

Unfortunately Pirog's next fight will also be in Russia agaisnt Martirosyan. Unless HBO wants to try and build this showdown, I don't think Martinez will ever be willing to fight Pirog.

I agree with the consensus opinion: pirog isn't good enough to be ducked but this is a fairly meaningless fight against barker.

Sturm is the guy martinez needs to fight. Everyone else is a paper champ.

**** you. **** you very much. :good Gen Y? I'm too old to be one of those, but thanks for making me feel younger. I watched that fight twice because I was actually debating on whether to burn that to a DVD, and I still can't get over how lame that fight was. Just read any interview Lou DiBella has done or any interview that Martinez has done with Sarmiento. You bring up Pirog, and they seeth over the fact the WBO handed him that title.

The real problem on these fan sites are assholes like yourself bitching someone you don't know from Adam without much opinion to back it. Look foward to eventual banning. Later.

Sergio Martinez is also ducking Felix Sturm, and the rest of the Middleweight champions.

Martinez also refused to fight Margarito in a rematch recently.

Martinez only wants small fighters to move up and fight him, but he wont move up to fight Bute, Hopkins, etc.

There is no contradiction, because Margarito is not smaller than Martinez.

Theyr'e both the same size, which is why they had already fought each other:

Margarito just fights at the weight division below Martinez, but that doesnt mean that Margarito is smaller, he's just lighter for being in that lower weight class.

when I say smaller fighters, I mean, generally speaking, in lamens terms, the likes of: Floyd, Pac, and other 147lbers.

It's not Sergio ducking him its his promoter. Dibella should see a hypnotist to try to cure the recurring nightmares he's been having about Pirog

Id like to see this fight happening eventually, but Pirog plain and simple doesnt deserve it right now. He looked beatable in his recent fight where Sergio has looked unbeatable vs world class opposition. For Pirogs sake I hope they dont meet in another year or so. If Martirosyan vs Pirog is happening that would be a great fight in itself, but as good as they are Sergio on a higher level right now.

Margo is a career welterweight who has had zero success at lmw. Infact he's had less success than floyd and pac who you quoted.

Martinez fighting margo would mean nothing other than a means to son brutally exacted revenge.

:patsch :rofl Recently? The things that people post on this forum as so fanboyish! Even if they wanted to fight each other its a fight that won't happen. Do you know why? Come on think a little.....his name starts with a B and his last name starts with an A :think

Margarito is on his last days of his career as a boxer and his promoter wont share the money with another promoter. So basically Pac, Margarito, Cotto and JCC Jr. are all tied up, the only exception been a Pac/Mayweather fight if it ever happens that TR will do with someone else. Besides that expect a Margartio/Cotto 2 and if Margarito wins or loses, doesn't matter, a Margarito/JCC jr. If Cotto wins a Pac/Cotto 2 or Cotto/JCC jr. incase a possible Mayweather/Pac happens.
