they say that Martinez's advisor has made an offer to Ishida to face Martinez this fall. Not a lot of other details to it but I would be a bit surprised if HBO was that interested in this fight but who knows.
If pirog didn't get a fight w martinez I don't see why ishida should. Let pirog and ishoda fight, winner fights martinez.
We already know who's going to win that "fight". Ishi isn't suddenly a top condender now he beat the hugely overrated Kirkland, Pirog is handing him his #ss if they would ever fight.
martinez doesnt need this, let paul williams fight this guy, martinez needs to fight pirog or sturm now, then go on vs zbik/chavez winner.
Dibella should match Ishida up with Andy Lee after Lee beats Vera in Jun/July. Martinez is supposed to face Chavez in fall otherwise maybe Angulo then Chavez then Rubio. No way Ishida actually gets the fight.
I don't think Arum lets Chavez near Martinez. I also don't think HBO would buy an Ishido match up, I think this is a way for Martinez's team to lower the bar on HBO. HBO turns this down then DiBella offers up Manfredo or Lee, which will look good compared to Ishido, and HBO buys it. Ishido is probably just a bargaining chip for DiBella/Martinez but, then again, HBO has been known to make some bad choices in their fight selection.
Well according to Max Kellerman, Kirkland was supposed to be the next great challenge for Sergio Martinez... but now that Ishida obliterated Kirkland I guess he now becomes the new heir apparent. :think :nut :verysad So basically what I'm trying to say is that Kellerman is a nuthugging tool.
I'm sure we'd prefer it if Martinez fought a more talented fighter than Ishida or another LM. A Sturm, N'dam,Golovkin,Pirog or a Geale would be decent. Though the Aussie is tied up with his match against Sylvester I believe.
