I forgot that Martinez wants his belt back. Either Chavez gives the belt up and Martinez goes at it with Rubio or Chavez gets his first defeat.

    Dan Rafael on March 15th:

James Kirkland is an intriguing possible opponent, one whom HBO's Max Kellerman talked about on Saturday's broadcast. Kirkland is on the comeback trail after spending time in prison. He won his return earlier this month, will fight again Friday and then is due back April 9 on an HBO PPV card. I don't think it's totally out of the question he could face Martinez, but a fight probably would be more likely to happen in the fall. Still, I would love to see Martinez-Kirkland next.

Patrick Faust, giving his take on Martinez-Kirkland and giving some props to Kellerman for mentioning this potential clash.

Bring it on! Just for the Summer so the P4P King could have another one at the end of the year, possibly againz Pacquiao, Mayweather, Pirog, Sturm or Chavez Jr.

3 fights are better than 2.

This fight would be bogus. He needs to move up in weight. Any fight at middleweight sucks.

I agree that a Kirkland-Ishida rematch is perfect for an HBO Bad card.

This would be the worst match up involving a world class fighter that I can remember.

If this is instead of the proposed Manfredo fight, I guess I'd be ok with it. I'd rather see Pirog-Ishida on the undercard of a Martinez fight to build some more interest for their potential clash.

either your memory sucks or you don't follow boxing closely.

Vitali-Sosnowski was much worse on paper.

If Kirkland hadn't just spent 2 years in jail you might be right but he did so you're wrong.

Vitali-Sosnowski was more credible than Martinez-Kirkland would be.
