although i can't read the whole interview cuz im not a member on B.TALK they asked him:Congrats on a solid fight, can you give us some thoughts on your performance? "I won by knockout in the seventh round and then I won by decision in the twelfth.....he might be the first to get 2 wins off 1 fight
Cintron got up by 10 or almost. Its debatable. I'm watching it just now. Exactly as the guy says 10, Cintron is getting up and he is off the canvas. Its close.
Actually, even if Cintron was up at count 1, if the referee says TEN, he's counted out, end of fight by knockout, end of story. What a disgrace to boxing. Martinez was robbed from a KO victory then the points victory 2 times - the point deduction was debatable and the scores were controversial anyway - how could they have the fight even before the 12th? I hope the commission will change the result to a KO. Kermit Cintron was counted out in front of the HBO audience. I just don't see Cintron getting away with that.
I don't think that clears him per the rules. He wasn't standing up erect on his feet at ten, the ref didn't take his gloves in his hands and say "come to me" and determine that he was okay (even though it was the end of the round, which doesn't matter as you can't be saved by the bell under the unified rules).
I actually think the point deduction was more of a crock than the KD. Cintron puts his head down and leans into Martinez and both punches sail OVER his head. -Sigh-
No first off you had to make a fighting pose, not just take your knee off the canvas 2nd, as was said earlier the ref said 10, end of story.....fights over
Apparently Kellerman has another situation here. Anyway Martinez won,no question about this. As bad as Casa vs Santa Cruz and Lewis vs Evander I.
