No arguing his greatness. The stupidity is calling out fighter to come AT LEAST 7 pounds (154) towards him yet Martinez the great refuses to go 8 pounds up himself.

He already reached the 168 limit on fight night. Pac and PBF has not reached 154 on fight night (at least officially).
Both reached only 150 in their JMW fight.

Your wrong buddy. Roach wants Sergio to fight at 151, not 154. How about actually making the sacrifice of making 154lbs for a well, 154lb fight! Pacman shouldn't of have fought Margarito in the first place he knew he was too damn big for him before the fight you know that, but of course, wanted to look great against a damaged, has been and once he felt a solid Margarito punch he decided it wasn't for him, but he was fighting for a "belt" so that makes it okay. If Manny, well not really Manny because I know he is a warrior, but his team knew Margarito was too big and risky they wouldn't of have made it in the first place, yet they did, didn't they? So, now that Pacman won a 154lb belt, as a champion he knew he would have challenges at 154. In your opinion is it okay to take on a 154lb fighter like Margarito and then fight him even though he was never a champ at 154 to begin with? I know it was supposed to be vacant, but c'mon! Like I said before, had Sergio not beaten Pavlik there was even talk of Floyd and Manny challenging Sergio at 154. Now that Sergio has defied the odds like Manny and went up in weight to fight Pavlik and Williams at a weight that actually benefited them more than Sergio, the *******s think he belongs there and go up even further to fight at 168 when the guy barely moved up to 160. Yes, move up as far as you can Sergio, far as possibly can be away from Manny! Really bro that is how is sounds like. Make the fight at 154 Sergio is waiting as is the rest of the world.

greatness is a stretch to describe wins over Cintron, Depressed Pavlik, Williams and Dzin. Good run, yes. But great, not yet

And Marg has been a welterweight for years, can make 150 lbs. Sergio would cut his legs off to make 150. Seriously he needs to look north if wants glory. Pac fights at or near his walk-around weight of 148lbs. Sergio walks around at 170lbs, why not fight at 168? scared maybe :think

pac weighed 143 lbs for his 150 lbs fight with margo. 147 should be his maximum weight, he fights and walks around at that weight, meaning he doesn't have to lose pounds to make weight. to ask him to come up means he would have to fatten up.

sergio has to lose weight to make 160 as his walk around weight is at 170lbs. Him challenging Pac to 154 is like Pac challenging a man who walks around at 135 to come up and fight at 140 pounds.

in any case that the fight is made, Sergio would weigh in at 154lbs while Pac weighs in at 143 or 144 lbs.-eleven or ten pounds difference in the scale (almost two weight classes). Sergio would come to fight weighing 170 lbs while Pac weighs 147 or 148 lbs-twenty three or twenty pounds difference at fight night (almost three or four weight classes).

I'd still favor Pac to win though, but his victory may be tainted with weight-drained, catchweight king theories all over again

Yes one day Sergio will match Pacman's wins over skeletor, fatton, and margacheato. Winning over a flabby Barrera, losing to Morales, then knocking him out after Erik lost to the great Zahir Raheem, and getting 2 gifts against Marquez. That is an undeniable path to greatness.

I know about all that tell me something I don't know. The debate here is Pacman fighting Margarito for a 154lb title. I admire Pacman's goliath slaying skills, but these are pretty limited goliath's, don't you think?

@caneman - That flyweight your talking about is also a former Super welterweight champ. He was flyweight when he was 15 years old. He is now almost 32. I rather see Maravilla face Mayweather but we know that's not happening

Martinez never said he wouldn't go to 168. he said he had unfinished business at 154. Martinez moving up to 168 is *******s hoping someone bears him before he gets to Pacquiao

Na, Sergio would easily be his career defining fight. Again, Sergio is a natural 154 fighter. Most fighters hardly ever walk around in their fighting weight bro. They take 3-4 months to bring it down. After a certain amount of time or lack of discipline, they won't be able to do it anymore. Sergio has only been at middlweight shortly. A win over Sergio at 154 would be legit and I'd make Manny a top 10 fighter.

considering that Pacquaio was the draw, he could very well have demanded for Margarito to come down and fight him at 147 lbs. Margo has been a 147 lbs fighter most of his life anyway and he looked sluggish at most recent 154lbs. But Pac agreed at 150 for a title. Its an alphabet title and i don't give much weight on it.

Its significance however would be similar to Sergio beating Dawson at a catchweight of 171 lbs. Pac fighting dominantly at his walk-around weight of 147 lbs is like Sergio fighting at his walk-around weight of 168 lbs. the size difference between sergio and froch would be similar to the size difference between Pac and a regular welterweight anyway. but sergio is not prepared for that, saying he'd be too small. he'd rather fight manny than move up

I would love nothing more than for these two to fight at 154, thats fair. Win or lose. And no one would step up to the plate but Pac, not Floyd, not any Mexican. Believe that.

And this Pac, Floyd, Martinez debate is moot because everyone knows whos got the most talent in boxing today. P4p #1 is Nonitos to take at any time.

Martinez really is something special. while the rest have to fight somebody

for the belt, Martinez can have it without even fighting anyone, did not even

bother defending it once and people conveniently let it pass without giving

him ****. the gutsy MW champ is now calling out 147 operators, balls of

steel i would say to call them out. its sad for some that the midgets dont

want to come out and play. crazy world.

People keep talking about Pac being too small for LMW and he is a true WW blah blah blah.

So why didnt Pac fight Mosley when he kept calling him out and said he would even go down to 143???
