I was looking at a thread that talked about how people would love to see Khan vs Mayweather, and he might be next. People thought this was fine.
My question is...Why is it a good thing for Mayweather to fight somebody who doesn't have a single fight at WW, and not that long ago was fighting at 135? If on the other hand Martinez has fought most of his career at 154, and has only fought a few times at 160.
Floyd has fought at 154 at least (as opposed to Khan never even fought at 147 yet), and instead of Floyd making Khan move up...Martinez is actually willing to move down for Mayweather to 154. So, Martinez will be weaker, Floyd can eat cakes and donuts if he wants and walk on the scale.
Why is this stuff so ironic to me? Floyd fights Ortiz who only has 1 fight at WW, fights Hatton who's not a 147 pounder, fights JMM who's not a 147 pounder, and now Khan would be ok. If it comes to a bigger guy with talent, people are like "OMG, Don't fight him Floyd! You aint got nuttin to prove man! That big bully Martinez pickin on poor Floyd!"
Pac is my favorite boxer, and I'll even say if Martinez drops to around 154...I don't think it's unreasonable that he fights Martinez. I'll say more than likely he beats Pac pretty good. So, I definitely say the same for Floyd who is slightly bigger than Pac, and he also gets beat.

Martinez would outweigh Mayweather by nearly 20lbs. Mayweather would outweigh Khan by 5lbs or less.

Khan does not fight like Hatton. Hatton was poor at 47 because he didn't have the massive strength and size advantages he held over his opponents at JWW. His entire style was based upon those advantages, and without them his glaring flaws were exposed by Collazo and then Floyd.

JMM simply came into the fight fat and bloated, and would've been much better suited training as if he were fighting at his normal weight. The size he added did more harm than good. In fact, it did him all harm and no good whatsoever. Khan won't need to add size, and even if he decided to do so he'd have the PED mastermind Alex Ariza to help him get there successfully.

You forgot to add that Mayweather would be doing a huge career favour to Khan in fighting him - despite the beating Amir will inevitably take.

We all know that Martinez is a risky fight for both Pac and Floyd. More importantly, it's an unnecessary one when you consider that considerably less threatening fighters hold more box office value. Therein lies your answer.

I wouldn't hold my breath for Floyd or manny to fight Sexy Sergio. Even full blown 154 pounders such as Cotto don't want it with him.

Martinez came in over 170 for his last fight and is calling out Floyd.
Khan is just one weight division lower than Floyd and probably is around the same weight as Floyd since Floyd is still small for WW.

Because Floyd and Manny are smaller than him...why doesn't he move up and fight guys where he cant use his weight to his advantage

the weight difference between floyd and martinez come fight night would be much greater than the weight difference that would exist between khan and mayweather come fight night, but I still think mayweather could outskill martinez in one of his toughest fights, if not his toughest fight ever. fights like that are what make me wish mayweather was more into his legacy as an atg rather than how much money he can bank before his career is over

Why does Martinez think it's ok for Mayweather to come up in weight to fight him, but it's not ok for him to go up in weight and fight a top SMW? Anyway, like it or not, Mayweather/Khan will be a huge fight if Mayweather beats Pacquiao first. It's still a big fight if Mayweather and Pacquiao don't fight.

Anybody that started their career at welter will be too big on fight night for pac or floyd

Khan died to presscott because he was drained looking at his body tight he should be a welter with ortiz
The fight night weight wont be so huge. Ortiz will outweigh floyd tho.
You gain about 5 pounds of muscle a year if your clean, more if not, not including water retention from creatines or extra blood flow from nitric oxide. Freddy roach puts weight in your legs the largest muscle group. Khan will be a natural welter weight next year. Pac and floyd has gone as far as they can go and being effective. P4P you need to find your besy natural weight and they both were tiny no need to over extend your were u need to be. Let the weight drained champions move up and come to you like you had to do.

Mayweather can't fight Khan until Khan fights at 147.

Martinez needs to fight abraham at 160
Margarito been a bum since p willy but thats there aswell as cotto. I do think cotto is lazy and isnt were he should be. Laras there. Pwilly has a bad trainer who cant make him utilize his power and body and should go back and drain to 47 he will lose to ortiz bertos mike jones and the like but atleast he wont get killed because hes busy building cortizone in his system, **** nutrition and a sorry trainer with no strength coach making him less then a fighter. What a waste. Hire emanuel stewart paul and own the 54 if your not ruined by your dumb trainer thats dumb as u

The same people here that said Martinez is too big for Mayweather also said that Martinez is not too big for Pac. He is just more skillful than Margo. :tired

I think Khan outweighs Floyd on the day of the fight.

I don't see a huge problem with Martinez/Mayweather. If they can't get a Pac fight for whatever reason, they should go for it. I mean it's win/win. No one's gonna slight Floyd for loosing to Martinez if he does loose, and if he wins it'd be ****in huge.
