If you look at the way even Kelly Pavlik was getting to him before the cut changed things around, Martinez would be a dead body against Monzon.

I think that Martinez would be ranked amongst the better fighters that Monzon beat. I hold him in pretty high regard.

Imagine what Monzon would do to Williams?

I'd take him over Licata for sure.

Mighty Tonna would tear right into him however.

I would love to see Martinez vs. Roldan as someone mentioned. Roldan was strong.

Pavlik didn't pick up two of the worst cuts in recent memory by accident. Sounds like an argument along the lines of the "lucky punch" school of thought.

All I'm saying is this: he'd at least need to cut Monzon and blind him to have a chance. Good luck with that:good

Monzon is a bit better and too big and strong.

But Martinez has the skills and the unconventional speed of attack to make things interesting for awhile. Tricky footwork wasn't exactly Carlos' specialty. But he'd break Sergio down and stop him late, and be well ahead on the cards.

Martinez has some good wins but has not faced near the caliber of Monzon. Right now I like Carlos by a late stop.

Look at the way Vitali was manhandling Lennox BEFORE the cut.

Is a cut not a part of boxing ?

Besides, who won the first four rounds of Martinez-Pavlik ?

All that said, Monzon would be the VERY CLEAR favourite.
