A cut certainly is a part of boxing and it didn't find itself there by accident, but do you think he'll cut Monzon and blind him? If the answer to that is no, well what do you think will happen to Martinez if he doesn't, based on the Pavlik fight?
First of all, I already stated that I think Monzon is the heavy favourite here. That said, I believe that Martinez would outbox Pavlik nine times out of ten, cut or no cut. The skill sets are not comparable.
Martinez would be a nuisance for 2 or 3 rounds, troubling Monzon with his speed and awkward style a bit until Monzon gets his timing down and starts landing the jab frequently. Thats when things get bad.
It's a word invented for the sole purpose of describing Pacquiao, and no one else...I think. Can't really remember.
