Yeah I don't see an issue with him taking on Ward. But like i stated he's just trying to secure his retirement.

 

yeah u have a point, every fighter deserves to cash out before theyre gone. he should get a good amount of $$ if he fights Chavez Jr tho.

 

Yeah that would bring in some nice figures but he can't make that fight happen. Jr has been avoiding him like the plague. They keep saying after our next fight we'll fight Sergio, then it's the next fight, and next... So we'll see.

 

imo he is dangerous overrated based on wins against atg like out of shape alcohol addict pavlik, never has been williams and light middleweight contender dzinziruk.

imo golovkin rapes him. but to be honest the middleweight division is plain and simple utter ****.

there is a big talent hole between super welterweight and super middleweight.

imo it goes like that:

Heavy: no talent at all (exception are our two atg, and i'am not joking), but it is getting better
cruiser: ****ing great division the hottest top ten right now
light heavy: even middleweight is better
super middle: hot
middle: cold
junior middle: **** it's freezing
super welterweight: great
welterweight: also great

i don't follow the smaller ones, just a couple of fighters

I thought Williams was class at the time as was Pavlik.
I think he is a p4p.

 

btw Macklin and Barker (both former European Champs) were both top 10 at the time and both put in the fight of their lives to make it that far.

170 on fight night is a small middleweight. Martinez foguht at 147 154 and now 160. If he does not want to fight @ 168 cant blame the guy.

 

He might be overrated but he deserves it. The man has been trying for too long and finally he's getting some well deserved attention. One thing's for sure, the more publicity this man gets the better for boxing, he's a true respectful gentleman.

 

Nobody fears Martinez idiot. He's just calling out guys much smaller than him. And yes he is over rated.

 

Because unfortunately for him, all the serious money fights belong in the lower weights. Even a fight with Ward at a catchweight wouldn't generate the amount of attention/money he's hoping for at his age.
