Canelo is a better fighter than Murray, Murray decked Martinez and Murray hit him quite alot, did you watch the fight, Martinez got a home town decision.

IMO Murray beat him on points.

I've watched it twice. Martinez won a narrow decision in a close fight. If murray had bothered to box the firs half of the fight he would have won.

You wanna talk about hometown decision, watch canelo v trout. That scoring was atrocious. Canelo got points simply for being a mexican fighting in texas.

Canelo being better then Murray head to head, and a more dangerous opponent, is completely debatable.

Id take Murray to beat Canelo head to head, and the things he brings to the ring are stuff that troubles Martinez much more at this stage, and Canelo is extremely more vulnerable then Murray.

Were not talking p4p here, were talking reality.

Canelo being 'better' then Murray in reality is not even close to being a given.

Overrated is your Golovkin dude. Martinez is better than Cotto anytime and in this moment even better than talented Canelo. Deserved top 6 in the world. This was one of this worst fights.

Cotto and Martinez ought to just cash out on each other at this point. Both are clearly past their best, very vulnerable against the bigger guys of their respective weight classes, and probably have their eyes on retirement sooner rather than later. Might as well scrap for the middleweight title and call it a day win, lose, or draw.

Stop with the Sergio is small crap.

Canelo Alvarez, who everyone would say is a massive Jr MW weighed 167 30 days out from Trout.

Sergio, who everyone claims is really a Jr MW, weighed 170. Even if Martinez fought at 154, he'd be artificially drying himself out to make the weight. He's no JrMW.

He's 38!!!!! WTF is wrong with you people? Greater fighters have been completely shot before that age.

Martinez is a small middleweight and on the high end for 154 but I think that if he has no problem making the 154 limit then that should be his preferred weight. I don't think he is over rated as a winner because that's self evident but he is not a great or atg type fighter because he doesn't possess the skillset of those caliber fighters.

the man is coming off a torn meniscus at 38 and was fighting in front of his home-crowd looking to not stink out the place out and Murray was just standing there in a high guard doing nothing and he is the challenger and bigger man, so Martinez was coming to him and this guy kept it tight and threw very little until after the 5th or 6th Martinez wasn't being patient and wanted to impress but Murray wasn't opening up at all until the later rds

This is coming from the same guy who said Rigondeaux was all talk and would get ko'ed by Donaire. I take nothing you say serious because you are an absolute jackass.

Really??? Trout is a more complete fighter than the Lara who had an easy time with Paul Williams, and Cotto did pretty good against the much bigger Trout. Triangle theories DO NOT work in boxing tho. However, if you have 2 fighters the same size and lets say one had Cotto's skills and the other Martinez's skills...The one with Cotto's skills would win. Now given that Martinez is not that much bigger than Trout I would have to say Cotto would still have a good shoot at beating Martinez(especially now). In fact that was supposed to be one of his choices after Floyd until the Canelo fight became available and we all know what happened then.

I really like this guy and his story, unfortunately age has taken its toll for him. I believe he should now consider retirement but I hope he would have one last win against a top guy to seal his legacy.
