Sergio Martinez, WBC junior middleweight champion, is ready to fight Paul Williams on October 3 - if Williams' promoter, Dan Goossen, is unable to reach a deal to fight WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik. Williams' side is still negotiationing with Top Rank and they hope to complete a deal. Martinez is holding back from finalizing a title defense in France.

Already got a thread on this. But anyway I'll give me 2 cents again.

Williams by wide UD or late TKO and I think Williams would beat Pavlik by a UD, not as wide as he would Martinez though; and I like Martinez, slick fighter, good to watch.

    Same here.

I like Martinez. And I think both him and Pavlik have a pretty good chance of beating Paul, at least in theory. Williams could pull it off, but they're both tough fights for him, fights that imo would define his career.

I think Martinez has a better chance than Pavlik but personally I think the Punisher beats both.

I got Williams over both but both are good fights and you gotta give Pavlik the better shot. I give williams about a 70 percent chance of beating Martinez and about 55 percent chance of beating Pavlik

The big fight is clearly vs Pavlik but if that fight don't happen then Williams vs Martinez or Williams vs Dzin are 2 other real good fights for Williams. Martinez and Dzin are known to be slick fighters with real good skills so if Williams face either one of them beside Pavlik, nobody should complain cause any one of the 3 are not easy fights at all. But i'm still hopiing for Williams vs Pavlik.

So much for being the most avoided man between 147-160.

Basically Kelly Pavlik, Sergio Martinez and Sergyi Dzinziruk all wants to get him.

It has to be Pavlik simply because its Pav's best weight division and Paul has never tasted the power he brings. I still think Paul beats either though, this guy is going to be in the top 3 pound for pound within the next few years imo.

i'd favor Martinez over Williams, but i'd say Willliams-Pavlik is 50-50

if kp and pw falls through, i would love to see martinez jump in there. he could present a lot of problems for paul. enough to make it a damn good fight anyways.
