Martinez said he would fight Mayweather at 154 or even 150, Floyd still refuses! Why?

How is it 2 divisions up? We're talking 154, isn't Floyd x2 champ, currently #1 at 154?

 

Right, that works out different since Ward is unwilling to go down to 160 or 157 for Sergio

 

FMJ is the best fighter in the world but he is getting no younger.
He has obviously deteriorated (he is human) and needs to finish off his career with 5-6 less-than-risky fights.
Fighting Sergio is too much risk and he's 2 divisions heavier...

Funny how no one brings up these statements. I think Floyd is the only boxer in history who people require to look for opponents who fight in 2 or more divisions above his own. Where is this logic when discussing other fighters? When Bernard Hopkins was on his successful 20 title fight reign I sure don't remember people crying and moaning for him to look for opponents in higher weight divisions.

Everyone knows how I feel about Floyd's careful selection of opponents but Sergio simply doesn't apply. No point comparing FLoyd to a true great like SRL, those 4 guys were unique back then and no one currently is in their league

So being real, Floyd has no business going up to 160 and Sergio has no business expecting him to do that. Floyd should stay at 147 or 154 and that's that. Sergio has won titles in 2 divisions, 1 if you want to exclude the interim belt, Floyd has won titles in 5.

If Sergio is serious he should just come down to 154 now and campaign there and then he might force Floyd's hand. Floyd still won't fight him anyway as Floyd doesn't take risks anyway and you can't blame him in this particular case as Martinez is simply too big

I think this is the only way for this fight to happen. Martinez has to beat the winner of Canelo - Trout fight ( if this fights will happen of course) and after that to challenge Floyd @ 154 ! :yep

 

Everyone within arms reach is trying to make a name plus payday off mayweather. Floyd is smart to protect his own interest n not fight just everyone an anybody, when you are the guy you can do what you want. If Floyd doesn't fight Sergio I don't think anyone credible will put that as a mark against him. Martinez fights at 160" walks around around 170" n hasn't fought at 154" since 2009. I remember B-hop was trying to make a fight but he refused saying 170" was too big for him.

Ward wanted to fight at 168" but that's too big for him, but he's willing to take on a guy who's smaller then him. He's not asking him to move up in weight, and is willing to drain down to whatever but that just tells you how worth it is to fight mayweather, money fame and if you win the world.
