Martinez want to honor his rematch clause and then floyd. He also says that "the bout is not about belts and is about a great fight....."

I think we all know why floyd wants Martinez and that is for his 160lb wbc title. If Martinez doesn't beat paul or pavlik (which i think he will) then he can kiss the bout goodbye. We will probably see floyd vs paul or pavlik.

I thought Martinez beat paul. I don't see why floyd would fight marinez and not fight paul. Paul is a lot easier to hit. martinez is tricky and can bang.

I don't know why people think Floyd should be so much more scared of Williams. Martinez and Williams was an even fight and Martinez is a lot slicker and is a better ring general than the Punisher.

PBF beats the crap out of PW. All those angles would have PW walking straight into nothing and swinging at air. The kid would be more confused than in the first Quintana fight. He is just lucky he caught Quintana with a big shot in the second fight.

Volume punchers cant do **** when they are fighting someone who wont be in front of them all fight long. Unless they have excellent footwork too which PW does not have.

Now Martinez thats a different animal. The dudes got quick footwork just like PBF. Not as balanced but he has fast feet and hands. Im telling you thats the only guy i see beating PBF at the moment. No one else stands a chance between 147-160.

It's a shame we don't know Mayweather's weight on fight night as it would give a good indication of if he can make middle weight or not.

I think it's a step too far for him.

Floyd will never fight Williams or martinez... He is not brave enough to challenge these big guys...

Manny, Roach, and the mayweathers want no parts of paul williams. He puts way to much pressure on you with that long volume punching and he has above average handspeed, though not a blazer like Floyd and manny. One thing is for sure, and that is the fact that you have to pay a toll to land shots on paul williams and I don't care who you are. Paul is gonna land shots and every trainer knows that. Add to that the fact that judges like the volume punching over bigger less frequent big shots from the opponent. So there is 2 things you got to work against when facing paul williams. These trainers know you have to make all of your shots count in the line of fire. Paul has a good chin, recovery , and ability to take body shots. He is just to dangerous of an opponent.

Sergio on the other hand would be a much favorable match up because mayweather and manny would both be faster than martinez, which he isn't used to and also not that much weaker than him either. Not too much shorter and martinez is a precision punching agile, dart in at angles guy like manny.

They would have much better chances against sergio than the hieght and volume punching of williams

Floyd's fight night weight against Mosley was 147 as stated by Floyd himself during the post fight conference.

williams is a much tougher fight for mayweather! his height and workrate would be too much. NO WAY floyd would ever take that fight! Martinez is more realistic
