I liked this guy a lot. Been rooting for him since Cintron. Rooted for him when he fought Williams and Pavlik. Picked him to dissect Sergie. I like how he popped up from nowhere to make so much noise.

Lately, he's been rubbing me the wrong way. he's been getting away with a lot of ****, stuff that guys like Pac and Floyd wouldn't be able to get away with. How is it even cool to call out guys from 2 divisions down? In the case of PAC, it's almost 3 divisions down.

How can fans continue to put up with this BS? I'm tired of it. Martinez need to stop calling out small guys. He need to pave his own legacy and fight guys his size. And if he really want to challenge himself, move up 8 lbs and fight bigger guys, something PAC had been doing for a good portion of his career. I don't want to hear PAC or Floyd out of this guy's mouth again.

  2. No he shouldn't he's gorgeous and p4p the best. Sexy sergio.

His last 5 fights have been vs great competition.

He is calling out Pac and Floyd cuz he is 36 and he want the $ and the attention that he deserves.

I would like to see him vsCotto, vsWilliamsIII, vsStrum, vsJCC, vsCanelo @155

I think Pac and Floyd should ashame themselves more than Maravilla does, both of them haven't fought real competition in years and they still #1 & #2

Sergio spent most of his career at WW. Now he's at MW. So he has already "tested the waters". He should just fight the other MW champions. That's all he should do, but he's afraid, so he's going to fight another bum.

Darren Barker's a decent fighter, and the reigning European champion - he's paid his dues and earned his shot.

Martinez is gonna beat him handily though.

That's Tim Bradley, but forget about the avatar, it's a decoy so you don't identify him as a *******, so bad it only takes 5 seconds reading his posts to spot him

Itis rather strange that they are flat out refusing to entertain THE oly worthwhile fight at 160 in Pirog. They say whos Pirog fought then they pull Darren Barker out? Puzzling

The more time it takes to make the fight vsPirog, the worst for Maravilla, Pirog should wait for his shot while keeping his 0

It's because he 36 that he shouldn't be chasing these fights. He want other fighters to be in a lose-lose position for his benefit. Ain't gonna happened.

He have small window to achieve greatness. He better stop wasting his time and take on guys like Pirog or throw himself into the 168 mix.

Stupid noobs, like he had a choice. That's the problem today, fans' inability to differentiate someone being protected to someone being ****ed left and right, and I had about enough explaining that Team Martinez has ZERO influence on opponents, that one half is turning him down, the other is being turned down by HBO so what's left is Mandredo, Ishida (also turned down) and the prospects with Barker being the best avalable, or that HBO and rival promoters negotiated all of Martinez's last few fights so he could only sign under bad conditions or get the **** out. For HBO it's either paying like 300k to Darren or 800k to Pirog/Geale of same popularity, which one do you think will they approove? Not very hard, was it?

Shouldn't you blame HBO for not bringing Pirog back and putting down the money like they did with Dzinziruk under the Gary Shaw deal? Shouldn't you blame Arum for keeping LMW champ Cotto away AT LMW but planning Cotto Chavez at LMW? Shouldn't you blame the WBC for stripping Martinez just to get Chavez Jr an easy path and not forcing him to face Maravilla? Shouldn't you blame Sturm for staying home and milking his title? How is the blame on Martinez who has zero influence (do you understand what that means?) on opponent selection? I tell you what: it's pure ignorance but you don't listen either. Why is it such a headache to understand some are in position and $$$ possession to fight whoever they want, while others are promotional punching backs being tossed around? At least WE shouldn't get in line and **** with Sergio, please?

Don't expect them to find any sense in there. They will come back with things like 'why doesn't he go to Russia to face Pirog there?' etc., well boo hoo, no Russian promoter or TV is ready to put down $4.000.000 for such a show, so who's going to cover the costs? No sense whatsoever on these boards.

He's painted himself into a corner for a head kicking with this selection of opponent. If he can fight Barker, there's no reason why he couldn't have fought Pirog who's shown he really wants the fight, and with fan interest in that fight.
