So are you sayin Pac didnt deserve it or Martinez should of got it because Pacs won it 3 times already and youd personally like to see a change?

Im not mocking your reasoning either way just wonderin which one it is. Martinez did have a great year.

Aside from Nazim Richardson, the HBO broadcast team, and a decent amount of fans, yes you are right.

    Just to chime in...
My short list for Fighter of the Year:
    1. Sergio Martinez - this year, the obvious clear cut winner; 2-0, Williams, Pavlik
    2. Fernando Montiel - 4-0, Hasegawa, Morales, Concepcion
    3. Juan Manuel Lopez - 3-0, Marquez, Lueveno, Concepcion
    4. Giovani Segura - 4-0, Calderon, Vargas

2010 was a bad year, but the above four stood out from the pack. Everybody else, all of which could have very large arguments for and against them being desrving:

    5-10 no order. Pacquiao 2-0, Mayweather 1-0, Pascal 1-1, Hopkins 1-1, Ward 2-0, Khan 2-0

pacs last three fights floyd avoided so come they are left overs dick head

  10. Pacquiao avoided Margarito and Cotto in their primes.

Do you understand he fought both fighters not in their primes anymore? Whereas Floyd fights an undefeated Hatton, a prime Zab Judah, a prime Carlos Baldomir.

    It's just a fan poll.

The official winners by The Ring have not been announced yet.

Agreed this was the Year of Sergio Martinez. Sports Illustrated had him winning FOY, KO of the year, and Breakthrough performance of the year.

I agree with BL to an extent, though. Mayweather was severely outclassing Mosley, he wasn't putting a "ruin a fighter's chin and leave them a shot husk of their former selves" type of beating on Mosley. That requires more power and more activity than Mayweather is capable of mustering at this weight class. There's no reason to believe that the Mosley who fought Mayweather is significantly better than the Mosley who will fight Pacquiao.

I also agree that Martinez deserves FOTY awards because his wins were more impressive than Pacquiao's. Martinez was considered the underdog in both fights, and won in impressive fashion, defying expectations and showing that he's better than we thought. Pacquiao was a huge favorite and showed why, but he did what he was supposed to do.
